Bru faces fascinate me!

| Shortly after walking into a doll shop in Pigeon Forge Tennessee with my 5 year old daughter, I decided there had to be a way to make one for her--I couldn't afford to buy one with two small children and a budget! My local ceramics shop offered dollmaking classes--two dolls and I was hooked forever! I began working on modern doll reproductions, Diana Effner being a favorite. I gradually began to be fascinated by the look of antique dolls. My buddy and I set out to find someone to offer instruction on antique reproduction techniques. A delightful woman named Peggy Abbott offered ongoing classes at her shop in north Alabama and an interest quickly blossomed into a passion. Wonderful teachers from all over the country and even Karin Buttigieg of Gildebrief fame taught seminars there, where we painted and repainted, griped, sweated, laughed and learned. |

| Sadly, dollmaking seems to be a dying art. Shops are not as abundant as they once were, supplies are hard to get, my beloved Peggy has closed her delightful shop, but I refuse to let the passion die for me! I have returned recently to teaching and offer dollmaking classes to a growing handful of eager new generation doll painters. It is with great pleasure that I offer my work for your pleasure and enjoyment. Know that each doll was created uniquely and with love and passion for painting. |
