I have spent most of my life as a communicator. For well over twenty years I was a video producer and writer. In that same time I wrote short stories and poetry and screenplays. Watch for Uncle Sam, the illustrated book of my long form poem, coming from Fossil Publications.

When not working or busy with family I have spent time developing new skills in an old passion, painting. As my work in video moved from analog to digital I discovered a real love for the possibilities of the digital technology as applied to still, 2d imagery. While never letting go of my love for painting and drawing I have taken the new tools equally in hand to make my own kind of, collage of forms, that combine and mix in my computer.

So, after half a lifetime, many changes and many paths I have come finally to a new art and a new career. I step into it with all the passion of a new love and a joyful sense of adventure. I dedicate it all, the passion, the energy, the joy and any achievement with respect and love to family. They have come before and will go on after and I can only hope to be a proud moment in their history.

Most of the images you will see from me are of mixed media. They will have photographic elements combined with hand painting or drawings taken into the digital workspace for manipulation, composition, and final output. Most but not all, there will still be room for the original oil or acrylic even the occasional sketch that may have served as the base of a final piece.

My subjects tend to run in series, angels, my Jacket Men, faceless tormented men in straight jackets, Uncle Sam, Illustrations for my poem/book of the same name. My style tends toward Pop art in the Angels, surrealism in the Jacket Men and a bit of impressionism shows up my landscapes. I am always experimenting and finding new ways to express and idea through an image. Sometimes they just don't work but when they do I feel that passion all over again.
