| I specialize in old schoolbooks,
most notably the Dick and Jane series by
Scott, Foresman and Company. If you have a Dick
and Jane related question, feel free to contact me. I may
be able to help. I am not only an experienced ebay seller, but also a collector; my early schoolbook collection spans more than 100 years, from the 1850's to the 1970's. I enjoy coming across rare and hard to find old school books, but I also find those that are still quite common every bit as charming. Antique school readers can be very engrossing. You don't just look at them like some collectibles (dolls, stamps, etc.) but you can actually read them and be transported to another time, another place. Each has a unique history, and most were held and used by previous generations. Most importantly, they helped to shape children's minds- children who are now our ancestors! Collecting vintage school books is exciting because there are so many different titles in a variety of subjects by different authors, illustrators and publishers. I am constantly learning about new ones I never knew existed. Visit my blog to see some of the old school books in my collection and check out my Dick and Jane reference guides to help you build your own collection. 1930's
