Please see our Button Quail hatching egg auctions for pictures.
We have 39 new chicks as of 10/05/2009 and when we checked we had around 75% fertile.
We didn't have more hatch out due to a water spill when refilling the water in the bottom of the incubator. We also lost some chicks after the hatch to due to there still being too much water and the some of the first chicks to hatch not drying and got a chill. A good reminder to be very careful when following the instructions for the incubator.
We got four whites, several slates, one really red one, a few of the darker colors, some silver combos and a whole bunch of the medium colors this time.
We have just about all the colors except the Pied/Splash/Tuxedos. Hope to be ordering some of those eggs soon.
Please feel free to contact me with questions.
If you need hatching eggs we have the auctions below.
For sale
We have one auction that is from the 6 pair tower cage where we have 1 pair per cage for more control of the colors produced and they have been paired with offspring from different parents including some new blood from an outside breeder from eggs from Ebay. This auction includes eggs from pairs with silver, slate, normal/pearl, red breast, cinnamon and white birds. All but the white are split for other colors and all pairs except the white have two different colors in it. The white pair are eggs from cajunboy and are not crossed with any other colors.
The other auction colony cage where we are letting the hens have more choice in who they mate with. There are offspring from all of our hatchings, plus males and females from the hatching of eggs I got on Ebay to add in some new blood. :)
