News from the nursery~November 2009: I am NOT out of business! I am still reborning baby dolls and loving every moment of it! However, I have been busy creating gorgeous reborns for the 2010 IDEX/Tiny Treasures show in Orlando Florida. I will be doing a prototype for Marita Winters in early December as long as there aren't any production issues with the kit. That baby will be available on eBay. I won't be working on any custom orders until February 2010 but I can take orders for customs. ~See my blog link and refer to it daily to keep up with the happenings at TNGUN~Thank you!

Hello there, and thank you for visiting my "About Me" page.
My name is Debbie Henshaw. I live in historic Baker City, Oregon. I am married to a wonderful man who accepts me and
loves me though all the long long days and late nights that reborning life like dolls brings. Thank you my Love!
I have been reborning life-like baby dolls since February of 2005. I believe that the Lord sent me to this form of
art as a healing for my heart. Life is a battle no matter who you are. I believe my Father in Heaven has watched over
me in each of those battles and He tends very well to the wounds.
I have 5 wonderful children (two of my own
and three step kids) and two grand daughters. They have all been such a blessing to me, but as most parents know, heartaches
come while raising kids! And then they grow up....
I can no longer cuddle them as when they were small and I
only have the memories of those tender times.
Bringing life to these once play and standard collector's
dolls has been such a joy to my heart!
Exciting news! As of July 2007, I am now teaching one on one reborn/newborn classes in my home nursery! I am very honored to have other artists-to-be put their trust in me.
Here some of my students reborn babies that were created during their own reborn class at my nursery. I think they all did exceptional jobs!

Let me take you on a tour of my nursery where I find peace in all the wonderful
moments of having a baby in the house.
My nursery is actually a baby nursery, filled with baby cribs and
powdery baby smell. Here are the two full size cribs that offer a place where reborns, to-become-reborns and my own personal collection dolls rest and play.

Over here is a closet and dresser where sweet little baby clothes await the new birth of a baby to clothe.
A changing table close by makes dressing these new little ones a breeze!

Storage for reborn supplies is a must, and nothing fits the bill better than this large storage unit with air flow shelves. The air flow is really important in order to allow the vinyl pieces to dry well after being stripped and bathed.
The "birthing" table is next to the
supply unit to make light of my work.

Due to the health risks to me and my family and the deterioration of heating vinyl to dry Genesis Heat Set Paints, I have made the switch to the Little Dreams Collection (LDC) paints that are specifically designed for painting vinyl doll kits. The paints dry fast meaning a little less time for me :) Recently I have been doing some very advanced work using Genesis Matte Varnish to create textured hair and brows, and milk spots before using the LDC paints~amazing results! I am well skilled in the application of these paints creating a multi-dimensional skin tone with full details. My customers have been fully satisfied with the color and durability of the LDC paints. If you place a custom order with me, please be aware that I will probably use the Little Dreams Collection paints unless you specify otherwise. A very important accessory to any nursery is a rocking chair, where babies are gently rocked during some of the
rebirth process (rooting hair, which takes a minimum of 14 hours per doll). I use the best Angora Mohair for all my
babies. I purchase it raw from one source (Pleasant Hill Farms in Oregon) processing and coloring it myself. On occasions, I am able to list for sale some of my gorgeous mohair on Artfire. Please contact me to be added to my mohair notification mailing list. The April 2009 shearing is complete and I have made my trip to the farm for more beautiful mohair! I am excited about the hair I have selected and currently have some listed in my ArtFire store.~
The rocking chair is also used to sit with and cuddle already reborns, and some not yet reborns, and my own personal collection of dolls when life just gets a
little stressful! Nothing calms the nerves better than a cuddly baby!

I take much pride in my nursery and my workmanship. I believe that in order to produce a high quality baby, the
environment and products used must be high quality. I purchase only the best supplies and use only the best
techniques. I have only a few distributors for the products that I use and do not look for what is "cheap". My
babies are given a new doe suede or flannel cloth body that is weighted with a combination of baby fat pellets, round and smooth plastic pellets, contained tiny granulated glass beads, fiber fill and my special technique for keeping them smelling baby fresh. I do not use sand in
my babies at all. I do not skip steps in
the reborn process and each baby is lovingly swaddled and packaged for the trip "home".
My home and nursery are
completely smoke free. We do have pets, to which we try to keep out of the nursery, but sometimes they wander in.
They are never allowed to stay!

~November 2006~New to my nursery is the They Never Grow Up "Kid's Corner"! Here baby dolls are customized, (meaning they are not fully reborned as fully reborned babies are not for children), and designed for little children to play with and love. These sweet treasures are accented with Little Dream Collection paints, given wigs or rooted yearling mohair hair which is easy to care for, given new eyes if applicable, weighted, dressed and accessorized just for the little ones in your life. Be watching for them on Ebay especially during the holiday season.
Another new line of reborns is my Budget Babies line of reborns for the collectors on a budget. These babies are very similar to my Kid's Corner! babies only they are a bit more life like looking. Both classes of babies are weighted as my full reborns are and feel exceptionally real. I do accept custom orders on both my Kid's Corner! babies and Budget Babies during the year when my custom order seasons are open.

Did I mention that I LOVE dolls? I have a great collection myself! I have a lot of fun with them and create a lot of smiles in other people. I love to buy them new outfits, (and sometimes they get to go shopping with me), I take them to other public outings and events, write picture stories with them in the spotlight and get together with my best dolly friends whenever I can for dolly days. I have a 25 year old horse named Toby whom is so
very special to me, he even let's the dolls ride and train him! Here is Toby a few years ago all decked out for the local parade to honor the men and women
in our area who were headed for Iraq. Toby won 1st place in his category! My husband, Toby and I are new members to the Civil War 7th Michigan US Re-enactment Cavalry and look forward to several re-enactment engagements in the summertime.

Matthew Ross is a reborn that I made for myself from Laura Tuzio Ross' Masterpiece doll, Matthew. Before he was reborn, He was the "Little Cowboy" that has been in all of my horse stories. He will continue to delight other with his horsing around stories. This picture was taken in Downtown Disney World where he joined me on my annual trip to the International Doll Expo~he had just purchased his own "Woody" doll.

In every way, I could not have imagined a more gorgeous baby!!! I told you that I left your feedback a bit early, without seeing my new little girl, but there was never a question in my mind that she would be anything other than stunning, and she definitely is ...and MORE! Her Feel, cuddliness, her little head, wobbly, her weight, perfect, and her size..so realistic!! John says "Boy, she REALLY IS a cute baby, isn't she?" You have no idea what a compliment that is coming from him..He has seen well over 40-50- over the past two years..he knows cute when he sees it. He has changed his mind as she is so ANGELIC..so now she is officially Victoria Gabrielle! Her packaging was also perfection. You did such an extraordinary job...she obviously hadn't moved an inch from the time you placed her so perfectly in the box. It was so cute to see that little face peeking out at me through the BEAUTIFUL pink blanket! Everything you sent is so special...so top quality...I really have never experienced anything like this before! I did not realize I would be receiving such an adorable little bracelet. Everything is just as pictured, but so much more adorable in person. The little shoes, socks, comb and brush set, little bow for her hair and headband. and the clothes..precious. Of course, the first thing we did when she settled down , was to style her hair. You have a Mommy here who loves curls, so she is softly curled, with her bow in place, cuddling her her PRECIOUS BUNNIES BY THE BAY BUNNY AND LOVEY! How adorable is that? I did not realize she was receiving the lovey or that it was that particular set..I adore blue (my favorite color), and of course anything they make is just over the top, I think. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that she misses her Aunt Debbie..every once in awhile I noticed her kind of look around as though she might be looking for a loving, familiar face. I will give her a kiss and hug from you later. She will be fine.. don't worry. Speaking of hair and fixing her up with a "do"..her hair is like SILK! and you were right, there is literally not any evidence of one plug in her entire little head! You are amazing!! With all the gratitude I can muster, Debbie, seriously, thank you from the bottom of my heart. She is a "dream"..and I knew that she would be.
Evan loves it here and boy does he smell great! He even smiled last
night, but of course, not for his photos! I had the most interesting discussion with a lady at the bank. She
thought that Evan was a baby she could take with her to church! Evan has joined 12 other siblings in his Washington home.
Blake has renamed to Sage and has been welcomed into a home with siblings Jeremy, Iris Leanne, Elanya, Ariana and Dalani in the great state of Oregon. His mommy thinks he is pure perfection :)

Comments from Kaari's new "Mommy": Hi! Kaari has a loving home at my beautiful new apartment in Phoenix Arizona. She has some step sisters which are other reborn dolls that I have purchased from eBay. Kaari is my favorite though and holds a special place in my heart as she came to me at a time in my life where I experienced a miscarriage. I hold her a lot when I'm sitting at home watching TV or while I am on the computer and she brings me happiness and warms my heart. For reasons only God understands I never got to hold my real baby, but I get to hold baby Kaari and somehow that diminishes a lot of the pain that I feel. Sophie is being well loved in Deleware. Her mommy says that she is the MOST life like doll she has ever seen :)
Dalani is the first Ethnic baby I have painted with the new Little Dreams Collection Paints. I will have an Ethnic Tone painting tutorial up on the Doll Dreams site by the end of September 2008. (Dalani is featured in it as he was my teaching canvas) Dalani now lives with siblings Ariana, Jeremy, Iris Leanne, Elanya and Blake, now named Sage in the great state of Oregon.
Jeremy is a custom order Toddler boy who I entered into a picture story contest. He took a nature hike by the lake and won first place! He lives with his siblings Ariana, Iris Leanne, Dalani,Elanya and Blake/Sage in Oregon.
Jacob is joining 17 other sibling in Arizona! My what a house full of TNGUN babies! He will be well loved and spoiled!
Brittany is joining that Arizona household as well! That makes 19 TNGUN babies under one roof! By name they are: Mariah, Kylee, Jessica, Audrie, Lexie, Malia, Serena, Kaitlyn, Rosie, Benjamin, Zachary, Mandy, Pouty Patty, Wyatt, Kahmi, Jacob, Emily, Ben and Brittany!

Even though Baylee is a Kid's Corner doll, she was adopted by an adult who loves her to bits. Baylee has distant cousinss between three families now. These families are planning a reunion here at Tngun Nursery sometime in 2009 :)

It is! In my experience, and I DO have a lot of experience with doll hair, it is by far the softest

I have a doll stand for her so she can stand up…it fits her perfectly! Oh Debbie, you did a fantastic job on her, and she came with so many cool things too! I just love her hair ribbons and her socks…oh, and this wonderful little vintage looking quilt…and she even has her own comb and brush set!! Ariana is a late 80's Lee Middleton doll. She made the most adorable reborn! And she was the start of her mommy's Tngun reborn collection. Everyone loves Ariana!
Iris Leanne first went home to a mommy in the UK but that mommy decided to sell her and she will be traveling across the Pond to Oregon where she will happily live with siblings Ariana, Elanya and Jeremy.

Bradley has found a loving home with siblings: Gage, Alex, Aubree and Jaidyn in Washington state. His mommy sent this letter: Well what to say. I met Debbie in person this past June at a doll show. She is in person as she appears in her writing, honest sincere, genuine. She is one whom any one would be proud to have
as a friend. I can proudly say that she is my friend, one who I have come to love as if she were my sister. At this doll show I was able to see many of her babies. Bradley was one of those. I fell in love with him then but let him go as I knew I just couldn't afford to get him right then. My birthday came up and my husband asked me what I wanted, such a dumb question. I told Debbie I was looking for a new baby and she asked me about Bradley. I was surprised to know she still had him. So I said yes and with her willing to work with me was able to bring this sweet baby boy home. I can not thank her enough for her genorisity, her kindness but most of all her compassionate frienship. Camilla was a custom order toddler that was by far the funnest baby to create and pose for pictures! I just love this big girl! She has gone home to live in South Carolina.

Madison was adopted to a wonderful Mommy and Daddy in Maryland. This new mommy called me the day Madison arrived. She said that this baby is the spitting image of her husband as a child. She has been to the bank, the gas station,aarons rental, babies r us, budget truck rental,sonic for food and sas for shoes. And now has decided to go to sleep laying on me.She's one tired little girl and I'm one happy mommy for being able to adopt this little Cutie. Another adorable baby from a great friend. Several of my friends know I have started adding reborns to my extensive (100+) and growing doll collection. When I told them I had picked up the baby from the post office, but hadn't had the chance to unpack him, they insisted that I bring him in so the five of my female friends unpacked him at the same time. All were overcome by the quality of your workmanship, and commented on how "real" he looked.

Dearest Debbie
With out any doubt you have really out done yourself this time. We can't thank you enough for taking on this special
task of making a portrait doll of our daughter Alexandra. She is absolutely with out a doubt beautiful.
Daily we will be reminded of the little girl that came squeaking into our lives,stole our hearts and wrapped her self
so very tightly around her daddy and brothers finger.The little girl who constantly kept us in stitches with her
silly antics, boundless energy and all the mischief she could find to get into. The little girl who so much wanted
to be everywhere her "bubbas" were.
There is just not enough words to be able to convey how much we appreciate you doing this for us.
As our daughter rapidly approaches the time for her to depart the nest it will be nice to know that we have
our "baby" to remind us of those times so very long ago. Those times when we could dress her in ribbons and bows
and frilly dresses.Those times that cuddling and kisses were ok. I took one look into those baby blues and melted.
I can look in this babies eyes and see my daughter looking back at me. I expect any moment for her to grab onto my
chin and start chewing away.

The stork (Express Mail) delivered Baby Benjamin today, and he is beautiful. How nice to include his CD. Almost like getting a sonogram -- watching your baby develop. Love the before and after shots. So glad you included the ones from the auction. Nice touch. Loved the care package too!
He arrived this morning just as I was leaving to meet a group of friends for lunch. Not wanting to leave my new arrival on the front doorstep, I scooped up the box, and rushed off to meet my friends. (Your personal note was so sweet, and I noticed the baby decals on the box too. First class!!! You didn't cut any corners or spare any expense.) Couldn't wait until I got back home to look at him, so I used my car keys to open the box.
Everyone that saw Benjamin was flabbergasted at how real he looks. As I unpacked him, another woman walked by and did a double take wondering why I had a baby laying so casually on top of a table. I should tell you the woman was a former pediatric nurse who from a distance of less than 10 feet thought Benjamin was a real baby! She even came by to pick him up. Benjamin even smells like a real baby. I don't know how you did it, but he is perfect! Superb job!
Do you take custom orders? I would love to have more of your dolls.

I couldn't believe Kaylie arrived Saturday (she was sent on Thursday)! I love her! She is so cuddly and loveable.
This is the first baby I have had that had such nice curly hair. The other ones hair was curly but unless you kept
it sprayed it just seemed to look stringy. I just love how real the silicone babies feel. I have heard they are hard
to reborn, But you did a superb job on her! Also I really appreciated the nice birth certificate and the CD was Great!

Today Aubree came into my life and stole my heart. From the expression on her face to the look into her eyes my
heart was melted into goo. Her expression had me wanting to cry for her. This little girl reminded me of the time

me it’s much more then that, it’s a beautiful reminder of those times long ago captured and preserved like a
