About Favorite Treasures
Welcome to my eBay Store, which I named Favorite Treasures because many of the items I have for sale
have been part of my life since I can remember. They belonged to my mother even before I was born,
and some she inherited from my grandmothers (both my mother's mother and my father's mother).
So they go way back and probably would be considered antiques.
Here is a picture of my mother taken when I was about one-year old.
The silver candlestick in the background is still in my possession, as you can see below.
It all started back in 1974 after my mother passed away and I moved into her large apartment
in the building next to the building I was living in at the time. It was almost impossible not to
move there, because there were so many things (including a grand piano) that I could not move into
my smaller apartment.
This was about the time that flea markets were the rage, so as I cleaned out some of my mother's
great items, I made my way to many flea markets to sell them. Soon I remarried and enlisted my
husband's help in this endeavor. We spent many weekends hauling all these things back and
forth to sell. It was exhausting, so we finally put most of the things into storage and took a
rest. But we were also collecting our own things that filled up the apartment quickly.
Pretty soon we had to get more storage space for our collections, and it was time to think about
retiring and moving to North Carolina. So in 2004 I started selling many personal items
belonging to myself, my mother and my step-mother. After all, how many sets of china does one
family need? And that goes also for books, records, and many collections I will be adding to
my store from time to time.
In 2006 we finally moved to North Carolina and I'm living my dream of running my own business from
