WE BUY, REPAIR, & SELL ANTIQUE RADIOS We will also be glad to quote you a price for repairing your radio. Most table top radios cost $80 to $100 to repair. This replaces every capacitor and resistor in the set. It is a premium grade repair that removes the parts that fail with age. This let's you play the radio a lot without being scared of it conking out on you. Most repairs replace only the one bad part leaving the other aged parts to fail soon. All of this restoration occurs under the metal chassis and is not normally visable. We welcome your thoughts and questions. There is a point when you must say to yourself ........ am I going to protect my valuable Radio or antique amplifier for my guitar or tube type home stereo. At the time you properly repair your set it is now safe!!! IF and I repeat IF all the capacitors and resistors have been replaced. All vintage electronics require capacitor replacement at twenty to thiry years of age if they are used now and then. If a unit is used hard every day then you really must keep up with the capacitors because electrolytic capacitors are the weak link in every amp or radio. Many old units play so why bother doing anything with them at all??? If they are playing with original parts they are sweating blood as they play. All the voltage test points have gone way up and way off the scale. If I could sell you unrepaired radios, stereo's and guitar amps with an honest warranty, I would do it so as to save you money and encourage you to buy again from me. The honest truth is that these old sets can and may actually burn up or a section of the circuit can burn out. Please read other warranties closely. Most of the repairs are so skimpy that the radio or whatever, is not warrantied .......... from most common problems. I run a one man shop from stripping to electronics repair. It takes me longer to do it but the other side of it is that the buck stops here. You can pick up your phone and call me anytime within normal business hours for an honest understanding of your vintage electronics. Thank you! Wes Witten In Oklahoma City, Oklahoma /Central Time Zone/ call from: 10am to 8pm seven days a week. As you will see from my feedback; in addition to repairing antique radios I also read lots of books. About 200 every year. I enjoy books about what our counrty is doing. I enjoy reading about the TRUE STORY of Senator Joe McCarthy and what some American historians call "The Pearl Harbor Conspiracy". I have read some about the "New World Order". I do encourage all readers of this notice to feel free to email me and engage in a rational discource and exchange of ideas. In all cases nasty emails get reported to Ebay. | ||||||
