Thank you for Shopping here
See the ABOUT ME PAGEto view our entire store. eBay is one small corner with just a small sampling of items. When we list a #1, it most often means that the entire series is available and can be viewed when visiting our internet store. For example, we may list New Mutants #1 and then 2-100 can be found when shopping the entire store. Be sure to search for exciting "PGX" mint certified comics.
Our in-house certified comics "RJTC" now available feature 800,000 framed and graded comics with huge runs available no where else. Prices for RJTC always signficantly lower and a good way to build an inexpensive certified collection.
Small sampling offered at eBay at this time.
We've reduced our inventory listings here from 30,000 to 100-200 and moved
everything to our internet store. If you see a #1 offered here, the rest of
series is offered at BicComix.com.
eBay is a small department within our store.
90% of our comics are sold at the internet store. Very often eBay prices
are bid higher than our asking price!

No Such Thing as a Worthless Comic! Every comic has value. Beat-up covers, bad art, poor story... It doesn't matter. If it's a comic, it represents a major effort by someone to communicate. Whether it's an Archie, Western, Looney Tune, or Superman, all have a place in my heart.
My Dad My dad took the family to a cottage most every week-end during the summer. When it rained and we were all stuck indoors, he would inevitably, drive my brother and me to the corner drug store, 10 miles down the road. He'd give us each a dime to spend and we'd rush to the comic spinner rack. It was always a tough decision...so many comics and only one dime.
In time we had piles of comics and spent hours in the cabin reading from the stack of comics. From these simple beginnings began my infactuation for comics. Every comic to this day reminds me of the love a father for his sons.
Answer To a Customer Letter About Investing
Over the years, while I was buying comics, I always asked the dealers and
readers what comics they would invest in for a 20 year investment. Well, 20
years is unheard of to this day. Everyone always mentioned the hot comic of
the
moment which was quickly forgotten in 6 months.
I took no one's advice and
invested in the DOW of comics and that is the comics with time-proven
interest.
I calculated 20 years in advance that X-Men and Spiderman would become a
Saturday morning cartoon show and would sustain the interest... and I'm
sure
there is more to come, live action theatrical releases etc.
Stick with the
big
titles, and best artists. Reread How Made $2,000,000 at the web site. Check
out
various comic business articles too while you are there.
Thanks for the good question. I haven't bought a NEW COMIC since 1996 and am
doing just fine with back issues.
The ONLY MARKET for back issues of the last 20 years or so is for NM
un-circulated copies. Everything else is just backyard garage sale material.
Characters such as Daredevil seem to have big ups and downs with collectors.
As
collectors go though trends, my sales in various titles perk up. It's
always
just a matter of time until the proven character becomes hot and the
backissue
sales pick up again.
Superman is aways a good title for DC collectors. The true collectors send
lists all the time for every issue imaginable. Most dealers don't value
them
much, however a list of books worth 50 cents to 1 dollar each can add up.
Adventure and Action...ditto. I'm a DC fan of all these.
The CRISIS on INFINITE EARTHS SHOULD BE A PART OF ANY DC STOCK. This is
mentioned all the time by editors. Only 12 comics.

about why Back Issue Comix will have more MINT 70's and 80's comics than any
other company in the world. CAPTAIN CANUCK SETS NEW RECORD
Reynold Jay's Back Issue Comix recently received 2 Captain
Canuck #1 graded 9.9 and 10.0.
These were published by Comely Comix in July of 75. Richard
Comely story and art. 1st appearance of Bluefox. It is an interesting Winnipeg
Canadian publication as the publisher cut comers on the color. It was not a
complete color process and the inside colors are unusual to say the least. Both
comics are the only MINT graded comics of record at the CGC data base. To the
best of our knowledge, the 10.0 is the 2nd oldest 10.0 grade ever. This comic
may be viewed at Back Issue Comix on BEST OF BEST page. Here is a listing of the
pre-nineties comics that were blessed with a perfect grade by CGC.
1. Kolynos Presents the White Guard 1949 Whitehall Pharmacal
2. 1968 -Thor 156... 2 /1/2 underground comic (3) in black and white
Issues 3-8 have come from our vaults. If this list is accurate, we
have produced 60% of the oldest 10.0 comics published before 1990. We expect
this number to be much higher by the end of the year and 80%-90% would not be
out of reach for our unusual collection.
Reynold Jay doesn't ever expect to beat the #1 position as "We don't really
submit many issues before 1975' It's likely the Captain Canuck will stand as the
#4 record holder for many years.' Offers as high as $4,000 have been received.
"We also received a 10.0 Grade for DCs Zero Month Sampler published in 1994.
We just happened to run across this in one of our vaults and thought it would be
cool to submit this little gem. It's only 8 pages of advertising, however the
art was gorgeous and we figured it would look nice in the CGC frame. It's
hanging here in the office for now and we will eventually make it available to
collectors"
A 10.0 Groo #I Image 1994 arrived recently. We had received a 9.9 in February
and when we received the 10.0 in March, wecould hardly contain our
excitement. Any reader of Groo can appreciate something this nice. Simply
amazing. It is our hope to produce the Pacific comics Groo from our vaults in
this condition.

Hi RJ, Someone told we about your company freezing comics. Is this true? It
seems a bit strange! Larry G / Minn.
RJ response : Yes it is true. We advertised our 'Frozen Comics - for many
years when me called ourselves THE COMIC MINT. We make use of the cold Michigan
weather to keep the heat and humidity from aging the books. During the winter
our Michigan weather does this naturally. I don't advise everyone to do this as
you could actually damage your comics.( Lots of details surround the de-freezing
process). The lower temperatures keep the paper from aging dramatically. This is
how we can advertise that are books are "Like stepping into a time machine." In
the winter, we simply turn off the heat. At this very I moment, books are stored
at -4 degrees, a typical Michigan temperature for winter evenings!
