EBAY POLICY UPDATE (Sep 09) - INSURANCE. Insurance is no longer optional and cannot be a direct charge to the buyer. We carry shipping insurance with COLLECTIBLES INSURANCE (www.collectinsure.com) as part of our antiques and collectibles business insurance. A small amount has been added to the shipping costs to cover the extra premium we pay for this service.

FEEDBACK CHANGE UPDATE - The recent changes by Ebay to the Feedback System put a premium on customer service. We have always prided ourselves on superior service, and our Feedback Rating and comments reflect this. If you have ANY issue with our service, please contact us first to see if we can make it "right". Sometimes new or inexperienced buyers do not realize sellers will welcome comments - both positive and negative. Shipping costs are frequently a concern, and we have issued partial refunds in the past when our shipping estimates turn out to be overstated. Please contact us first before leaving negative or neutral feedback, or a low rating in the performance categories.

Feedback – Everyone gets positive feedback from us when we get your payment. So far we have given only two negatives and these were for chronic deadbeat bidders. Bounced checks will also result in negative feedback.

Shipping – We try to ship as soon as possible and that depends a lot on your feedback rating. We only hold items for checks to clear if your feedback is near zero or there are negatives. We have occasionally shipped buyers with great feedback ratings merely upon confirmation that a payment has been sent. The shipping charge is clearly stated for each auction and reflects the postage, insurance and supplies costs (rounded up to the next $.50 increment) with nothing added for “handling”. Most items are shipped in bubble envelopes with additional protection, or by Priority Mail. We try to break even on our shipping costs.

Insurance - We DO NOT use the US Postal Service insurance program. We have shipping insurance with Collectibles Insurance Agency (www.collectinsure.com). Claims are handled through this company. Please provide photos of damage to help with the claim process.

Payments – We take checks, money orders and credit cards through PAYPAL. If your feedback is over 20 with no negatives, don’t go to the additional expense of getting a money order if you don’t have to. Your item will ship just as fast with a check. Ebay's recent policy change requires sellers to only offer Paypal, but if requested, we can also take checks or money oders.

Returns – Problems do happen! We have made mistakes in the past with our descriptions and buyers have made mistakes with their bidding. If it’s our fault, you get 100% of your money back (postage too). If it’s your fault, let us know within three days of receiving it and send the item back. You’ll get your bid price back, less the Ebay insertion fees (I’ll request a refund of the Ebay commission fee). You’ll also be out the postage expense for shipping and returning the item.

Ending An Auction Early – We do not honor requests to end an auction early to sell “offline”. Sorry.

Reserves – We hate them! In the rare case where a reserve is used (mainly to protect our “investment” in the item), the reserve will be stated in the auction.
