Living in The French Alps
Hi, my name is Rick Lomas, I was born in Newcastle, Staffs, England. I have also lived in Cardiff, Tregaron, Aberystwyth and Borth in Wales. From 1985 to 2001 I was living in Radlett and Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire, but in late 2001 My wife Sue and I decided to travel around Europe in a caravan, we went to France, Spain, Andorra and Italy and decided to live in the French Alps.

On 18th February 2004 our daughter Madeline Jeannette Lomas was born, she is growing up so fast it is unbelievable. You can always find photos of Maddy Lomas here.

I started designing web sites in 1998 using Macromedia Dreamweaver v2, I have stayed loyal to Macromedia through Dreamweaver v3, Ultradev v4 and now Dreamweaver 8. I also use Macromedia Fireworks 8 and Macromedia Flash 8. I also use Adobe Photoshop CS3 extensively.

In 1999 I formed a company called Clarior Technologies Ltd with Steve Pritchard who is an excellent VB/ASP programmer and is now living and working in Milton Keynes. We have done some great products recently including:

In 2002 Clarior Technologies Ltd was dissolved and I have set up my own business as ricklomas.com, we can offer web design and development and web hosting - also if you already have a tired looking site I can give it a revamp. Since the beginning of 2001 I have realised the importance of Search engine optimisation (SEO) with web sites - especially when you are dealing with competetive areas such as insurance and finance. Although I claim to be no expert, I am regarded as the SEO guru of Serre Chevalier.

mixedfeelings.com	19/02/2001	A nice looking site for Jon Nicholls of the excellent UK band, Mixed Feelings, this is one of the oldest sites I have in my portfolio and consequently not very well SEO'd at the moment. This however doesn't seem to matter too much, Mixed Feelings are very much in demand so the web site just needs to add to the corporate image of the band, rather than convert online.
motorhomesdirect.co.uk	19/03/2004	A site predominantly selling motorhome hire in the UK for Dave Gater of the Largo Caravan Company near Market Drayton. However I am hoping to do other deals for different aspects of motorhomes too. Early days still for this very seasonal business.
