We are located in central georgia. We are not a retail store. Mrs Ricksplacega takes care of our Ebay listings, sending emails, invoices etc. We purchase our items from various types of places, most of them are all brand new items,sometimes in original packaging-never opened. Some items have "distressed" packaging, but items are new and in perfect condition unless stated otherwise within the description. All items (except fabrics) are stored in outdoor utility building.
OUR FABRICS
Our fabrics are also purchased at various locations including retail stores (both chain stores & independent), individuals,flea markets & yard sales. Once we purchase fabrics, they are stored in a smoke & pet free environment,in a seperate building from our other items. However, we do not state that in our listings for the following reason: we know what they MAY have been exposed to before we acquire them (odors, fumes, dust, handling, storage, etc). we do not know what the packages may be exposed to, how they are handled etc once we have shipped them. see below...
Mrs Ricksplacega worked for a large textile / fabric company for 19 years, and we do list & sell some of their products that we purchase thru sources they sell to. Having worked for this company 19 years with the last 5 years working in the distribution center (warehouse), she knows first hand what kinds of things fabric is exposed to & how it is handled before it leaves the manufacturer. All sorts of odors & fumes that can and will be absorbed by fabrics of any kind. Unless you have worked within one of these large textile /fabric businesses or taken a tour thru one to see what goes on behind the scenes, you have no idea. The same goes for shipping supplies-boxes (even usps), envelopes,etc. they can sit collecting odors, dust, dirt, etc for months before we get them in our possession.
SHOCKING INFORMATION ABOUT SHIPPING COMPANIES, INCLUDING USPS~~~
A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, I WAS OUT & ABOUT ON A NASTY RAINY DAY. STOPPED AT A LIGHT BESIDE ME WAS A USPS ROUTE VEHICLE (THE SIZE THAT DELIVERS TO OUR HOMES. WINDOWS WERE ROLLED UP & THE EMPLOYEE WAS SMOKING INSIDE, & IT WAS FILLED WITH SMOKE ! I WAS A BIT UPSET SEEING THIS. I QUICKLY WROTE DOWN THE DELIVERY TRUCK NUMBER, AND WHEN I GOT HOME, I CALLED THE POSTMASTER IN THAT CITY & REPORTED THE DRIVER.
WE TAKE THE TIME TO PACKAGE OUR ITEMS WITH CARE, AND THEN THE SHIPPING SERVICE IS SMELLING THE PACKAGES UP BY SMOKING IN THEIR DELIVERY VEHICLE WITH THEM. IN TURN, WE GET BLAMED WITH SHIPPING SMOKE-SMELL TANTED MERCHANDISE.
SHIPPING
We know how important it is to save money, & we do everything we can to keep the cost of shipping down. We never charge a handling fee ! On items shown to ship via USPS 1st Class Parcel Post or USPS Parcel Post package, we do charge 18 cent to cover the delivery confirmation fee. If you buy more than one item, wait for invoice and we will adjust the 18 cent fee so that it is only paid one time per package, or if it goes over 13 oz, and is cheaper to ship priority mail, we will remove the 18 cent fee from the invoice. Insurance is usually offered, and when so offered is often recommended. On collectible items of higher value, insurance will be required We charge actual shipping charges estimated by local post office or usps online. Sometimes actual cost is a little less than the estimate, sometime it is more. Sometimes we may have to add an extra fee because an item is an odd size or shape and have to purchase shipping supplies (boxes,etc), but we try to avoid this.
Our policy for buyers---
We only accept Paypal payments, due to problems with money orders,etc.
We do not like to report anyone to ebay or have to leave negative feedback, but sometimes you have no option but to do so (non-paying bidders,etc).
We welcome all potential buyers to contact us in advance to buying for shipping quotes & questions.
We love to build our positive feedback, so please leave feedback within 7 days of receipt. We do not leave feedback until we receive feedback from the buyer.
If you feel you should leave negative feedback or leaving a negative comment under positive feedback, please contact us to discuss the problem first.
If a buyer leaves a negative statement in positive feedback or leaves negative feedback without contacting us immediately upon receipt to report a problem, that buyer will be blocked from buying from us in the future.
