Who We Are:
RKcar_farm is also known as Mountain Motors, basically a couple of guys with a love of old cars who work together to preserve them and enjoy buying, selling and swapping them around, despite the frustrations of doing so.
In addition to this, I use this eBay account to sell personal items from various collections including but not limted to Model Trains, Model Cars, Toys, Radios, Records/CDs/Tapes, and even family clothing. Part of the giant eBay electronic flea market, while we strive to accurately show items and describe them, sometimes things get missed or overlooked - we highly suggest asking questions before bidding or inspecting before buying, as just like at the flea market, once you've bought it, you've bought it.
WHAT WE'RE NOT:
We are NOT a salvage yard or dismantler - WE DO NOT PART OUT THE CARS
We are NOT Wal-mart - repeated inquiries for parts may not recieve friendly answers.
We are NOT soliciting opinions of the conditions or prices of the vehicles. Unsolicited opinions are unlikely to recieve freindly answers. It got old a long time ago.
Bottom line - It's simple to buy, or not buy, to make an offer, or not. If you're not buying, or you expect to buy for some lowball price, we're not interested.
Terms Of Sale and Legal Stuff:
On cars: New York does not issue titles for 1973 and older cars. They've made it easy to generate a registration if you register and put plates on a car. Many of our cars do not have titles - and it's entirely possible if remote for the chance that an old registration to a car could have been used by someone to register another car fraudulently and the serial number be in a DMV system somewhere. New York issued registrations annually until the 1990s and biannually since which can be used as transfer of ownership in most states and for those vehicles who's information made it into New York's DMV computers, most inactive serial numbers fall out of the system after seven years or so.
Those buying vehicles from out of state must check with their state to determine the requirements and ensure they can register or title the car - no two are alike and some are less reasonable than others.
We include 30 days of storage free with purchase and will work with a buyer if they have problems coming to get a car from a great distance, particularly in the winter when snow can drift multiple feet deep and make a car impossible to move. That said, if a buyer can't be contacted for more than three weeks or so and has made no arrangements to store their car, we can apply a storage fee - currently a nominal $10 per day, even though some guys get as much as $40. All pickups must be done via appointment to ensure someone is here.
We can help load a car in most instances.
We highly encourage people to inspect a car in person before buying. Cars rust, and once it's out on the lot I have no good way to thoroughly inspect the undersides of them before posting photos. They may have rust issues I can't see or am not aware of.
Payment: All vehicle payment must be cash in person, or email for questions on making deposits, paying before pickup, etc. as eBay's made it against the rules to accept anything but cash in person or Paypal and have neglected to include some of the auction categories we use among those exempt from this policy. Not that it's a good policy to begin with.
On other items: All items are sold as-is, as illustrated. I encourage purchasing insurance if you can't afford to eat the cost of something should the USPS damage it. If you need to see something specific on an item, ask for pictures or additional information. As in the auto listings, derogatory opinions are not welcomed. eBay is a big place and one would think a smart person would spend their time looking for another example of an item rather than complain about the first one they find.
