CHARLESTON,SC COLLECTABLES I began collecting Charleston,sc items at an early age.When I was a young boy I was able to find many items in the trash,old abandon building,of which there were many in the 40's and 50's,sheds,buried,and in old folks homes.In the mid 60's I discovered that in Charleston from the beginning of time until 1910 or so,bottles and other trash items were deposited in  privys in the back yard of every lot in the city.Since Charleston was founded in 1670 these privys were time capsules.For the next 30 years I spent a great deal of my time inside these vaults discovering glass,china,crock items,cannon balls,bullets,slave tags,wooden items,clay pipes,coins,you name it.As my interest grew so did my interest in collecting all things Charleston photos,postcards,book matches,bill heads,silver,glass,trade cards,bottles,anything.  Ten years ago I discovered Ebay and have been buying and selling eversince.I have had a business in the city market in downtown Charleston open 7 days a week that I've had for 40 years selling all types of collectables and I have a  Ebay store,Holy City Collectables.A great deal of the collectables I sell at the market I purchase on Ebay and many of the items I sell on Ebay I purchase or find in and around Charleston.
