I've lived up and down the West Coast, on the shores of Lake Superior in Wisconsin and in Chicago. My art reflects the diversity of places I've been and the friends I know. I have college degrees, but not in art! Back in 1984, as I was working on a philosophy PhD in ethics I realized - my best friends were artists and musicians! I changed careers and have been painting and showing my art ever since. For many years I hoped that showing in galleries was sufficient for a career. Now I know better and I have decided to represent myself and to establish my presence in cyber-space. I am not a one-night-wonder, flash-in-the-pan, new-on-the-job, paint-only-for-profit, Newby. I have been fighting the good fight in the trenches for two decades.
