I'm physically located in beautiful Western New York, minutes away from Niagara Falls and our Canadian neighbors. A one-woman operation, buythebookhere specializes in antiquarian children's books. I go to great lengths to track down the most interesting, novel, old books. From 19th century chromolithigraphs and the gorgeous plates of illustrious illustrators, to Walt Disney, to classics of literature, my range is large. I especially delight in finding the clever novelty books of the 1930's to 1950's. Julian Wehr animation, linen printed primers, miniature books of all sorts, Big Little Books, pop-ups, movables, and shaped books are avidly sought after to make available to my customers.
But that's not all!...
I have one of the largest vintage school book departments on ebay. There are Dick and Jane readers and workbooks, Alice and Jerry, books by Heath Co., Lyons & Carnahan, Ginn, Winston and others.
but wait...there's more!...
For adults there is 1st edition literature, mystery, sci-fi and especially fantasy. I look for non-fiction books of uncommon subjects. I have vintage automotive books, literature, manuals and advertising.
There is a small but select record department with great vinyl. And, I have to admit, since estate and garage sales are a great source, I sometimes will pick up an interesting tidbit for you to check out. Some items are just too neat to let them pass into oblivion.
As I said, I'm a one-woman operation, but that one woman has a determination to offer the best possible merchandise and service. My descriptions are thorough, and you can be sure of receiving the book you thought you were getting. And if I err...it could happen, I will make it right. If I goof up, I pay for the mistake, not you. Refunds are cheerfully given for both purchase price and all shipping if item is not as described. I also go to extremes to make sure your items are carefully packaged to survive intact the trip to you. To be honest, my postman thought I was trying to con the post office by asking for media rate. He said the packages were too well done to be just books - they thought I was trying to ship fragile antiques at the lower rate! If there's ever a question or information that I can help with, I'm an email away.
I usually ship 3 times a week, so your item will be sent out very quickly. I offer media rate because it is economical - but it is slow. I can upgrade to Priority or 1st class if you need it faster. Please don't give low dsl's based on the time it took your package to reach you, without looking at the date it was postmarked. Particularily for international sales, which can be held at your country's customs for weeks. I try very hard to ship quickly. I also do not charge a handling fee, but merely round up to the next whole dollar. I refund portions of shipping regularily to those who overpay, if I overestimate shipping.
