You can call me Rose, and I will begin by telling you a little about myself. I am from a large family, the 10th of 13 children, and the 5th of 8 girls. I married my childhood sweetheart, and as of this year, 2009, we have been married 45 years. We have 3 lovely daughters, 5 precious granddaughters, 1 grandson, that I refer to as "my favorite grandson," 3 sons-we-love, who are the loves of our daughters, and 1 grandson-we-love, the love of our first granddaughter.
I have been a caregiver and into childcare much of my adult life. My Dad, who had dimentia and was no longer able to care for himself, lived with us for a little over12 years. Before, during and after these years, I did childcare in our home, which included our own grandbabies when they came along. My husband's Dad and Mom, lived with us for a short time, until Papaw died of cancer. After that Mamaw went to live a couple of houses down from us with my husband's brother, but we continued to have Mamaw in and out of our home, helping to take care of her.
I became a member of eBay in 2005, and on May 17 of that same year, I began the store, and found I love eBay and working the store. In the beginning I sold home decor, and before I knew it, our walls were bare. I began selling dishes, kitchen utensils, and even an ice cream maker that I had bought for someone for a gift, and it ended up stored in our closet, never opened and never used. I added Christmas country mice ornaments that I had made to the store, and these sold. Next were time-worn books, leaflets, and magazines from our bookshelves. Then in my workshop I began making flower arrangements and these sold. I went through the pile of fabric that I had saved, and found enough fabric to make a set of 4 placemats and coordinating napkins, and these sold. Then I made a baby comforter, and this sold.
My mother, who taught me to sew and and who inspired in me a love for working with flowers, purchased my first lipstick for me from Avon when I was a teenager, and I have used Avon ever since, so before long beauty products were added to the store, and I plan to add other name brand beauty products as well. I have also found a new line of jewelry, which I love, and it has been introduced into the store.
And we have always been a family who watched for bargains and to make use of coupons. I have always said, "To throw away coupons is to throw away money." So I hunt through magazines, newspapers, and now my daughter and I purchase papers in bulk for coupons to clip, sort, stuff in envelops and ship to you so that you can get the best deals as you shop for your family and home.
And for further savings, with each order shipped from the store, you also receive Rose Rewards, that you may save, and let them add up, then you can redeem them for discounts from your purchases in this store. And therefore the store, Rose's Beauty and Jewelry Boutique, I now refer to it as the "Home of the Centsible Shopping Concepts" to reflect the ideas and thoughts for buyers' savings that have come to my mind for the store.
You can also refer to me as a rambling rose, I accompany my husband who is retired and loves to go on the road, and wherever we are, I like to window shop, and if something catches my attention, whether it be books, or children's clothes, whatever, and if it is something that lingers in my thoughts, and I think it is a good deal, that I can pass on to my customers, shopping for the store I will go. (In these pictures, we are in Nashville, TN., the week of July 12, 2009. Our youngest daughter and granddaughter were with us on this trip.)
I have added babies and small children's clothes to the store. These I shop for while on the road, whether it be in Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, back home, or wherever.
