Roveda Speed & Custom Inc.: Something for everyone. (Nov. 2004 AARN Article)
Cream Ridge NJ t been a very busy year.Said Rich Roveda owner of Roveda Speed & Custom Inc. ylinder heads are still my passion and the foundation of my business. But what been a pleasant surprise is the demand for our chassis and the performance of our race engine packages in all-different divisions. Additionally wee seen an increase in demand for our cylinder heads and have had huge success with our 358 D.I.R.T. cylinder head program, which is currently making 600+ horsepower. In 2005, Ie planned a redesign of the combustion chamber which will squeeze out more horsepower./FONT>

A full line of cylinder heads are available at Roveda Speed & Custom, anything from sportsman to street racing imports. One of the hottest designs on the market today is the 18/FONT> big block cylinder head. e really put a lot of research into our 18/FONT> raised oval port designs for big block engines. I really excited about their potential and can wait to see their performance on the track next spring.Rich stated.
At Roveda Speed & Custom it easy to see that research, production of quality products, and education are of the utmost importance. During the 2004 off-season, Rich will be spending a week with Joe Mondello in California and will be attending the Advanced Engine Technologies Conference (AETC) in Colorado. I feel it very important to stay one step ahead of the competition. Going to California and Colorado will keep me up to date on the latest cutting edge technologies that are available for our sport.
Roveda Speed & Custom Inc. is located in a 4500 square foot shop, that easily fits their engine and chassis building needs. One bay is dedicated to a chassis jig and welding rotisserie, a separate lean roomis used for engine assembly, and a 600 square foot retail speed shop is attached to the main building.
When asked about his chassis fabrication program Rich said, eople always ask how did a cylinder head company get into chassis fabrication. Since my brother Jake, who is 6tall, started driving for us we had a hard time fitting him safely into cars that were on the market. Jake is an incredible welder and my father Rich Sr. has a degree in drafting and design it seemed like a simple step to merge their specialties into creating chassis that were a custom fit for Jake. He feels very safe in our custom chassis/engine combination and was able to drive to 3 feature wins out of the last 7 races at New Egypt Speedway. To help us learn how to make our chassis/engine combination suit any driver, we hired Kim Cooke who drove our in-house Century 21 car in 2004. His driving style was completely different from Jake, and with Kim experience he showed us that our chassis could be competitive for any style driver. Kim also finished the season 2nd in points and had a total of 17 top 10 finishes of which 8 were in the top 5 at NES, and won the fastest lap at Bridgeport on Oct. 3, 2004. Wee just completed our 12th chassis, and have orders for 2005 coming in./FONT>
With that type of success in their chassis program, it was only natural to ask what engine combination was powering them around the track. he phone has really been ringing off the hook with people pricing out our engine packages. It been a common misconception in the past year that most people think that since we run street stocks all we build are street stock engines. In actuality wee built some very competitive engines for sportsman, sprints and modifieds throughout the tri-state area. We can offer something for everyone,Rich said.
It clear to see that since opening their doors Roveda Speed & Custom Inc. has done their homework and worked really hard to build a multi-level business that refuses to sacrifice quality or safety, no matter whether it is work for a dirt or asphalt racer. If you don get a chance to visit their shop during the off-season they will be set up at the 2005 MotorSports show in Ft. Washington PA from Jan. 14-16 in booths 518, 520, and 522.
