Wildlife and the beauty of Nature is in my heart!
Since,I was a young man growing up in northern Massachusetts to the time we moved to northern Maine 26 years ago.I have been amazed how much more you could get from our forests beyond the logging. All around me was a wealth of materials Mother Nature provided,I just needed to open my mind a little and create.
By utilizing my "Nature comes first approach",when I left an area I could rest peacefully knowing that the animals habitat I invaded would only improve over time. When I was finished gathering my materials,I would look back and see small trails thru the thick underbrush that I created and that the woodland creatures would use to access food and shelter.
I can contribute my sense of responsibilty,to my loving parents whom has not only preached this but live it every day.You see for the last 25 years they have devoted there lives(night and day)to caring for orphaned and injured wildlife.Thru there endless hours of devotion you can't help but take on a sort of"Leave everything in a better way than you found it",approach.
Recently,I have gone one step further in my never ending need to do as much as I can.As you must know by now I'm not in favor of destroying our environment.Well,to further control harvesting methods I have purchased a small bandmill. All wood now, used in creating my products I have sawed out using my new mill.I go into an area pick the trees and remove them using only methods that aren't so destructive.
I am a true believer of "hands off nature"but I also realize that thru careful and respectful use of our natural resources we can both survive and prosper...
