Dinky Toys Streamlined Fire Engine

I was astounded at some store prices for mint, in original package, dust free toycars. The prices could blow anyone's credit limit. Lady Penelope's FAB 1 in mint was going for roughly 500 GPB, approx 940 US, 728 EURO, and 1492 NZ dollars. In 2005 I managed to score three from extreme to mild playworn condition for less than 25 GBP. The parts from Recovertoy cost in total around AU$60, and all they need now is a good respray and repro boxes.
My Motto is: Playworn Toycars are mint too.
Repainted a 1960s Kingsize Prime Mover and Flatbed Trailer. This model suffered from the infamous 'paint flake' normally associated with metallic coated models. So its perfect for respraying it any color I like, in this case olive green. And to add some realism won a couple of tanks aswell. A Battle Kings Howitzer and Centurion tank. Originally this truck&trailer is orange and has a yellow Caterpillar Bulldozer on the back.
I like adding cars and trucks older than me in the collection, especially Dinky, Corgi and Lesney/Matchbox. Occassionaly Majorette, Maisto, Burago, Siku and EFSI might enter the mix. I like Fire Engines and Car Transporters. I also try for trailers. Most of the time I get outbid, but considering I bid quite high the seller can get some nice prices for their models.
