Welcome to my me page! My name is Kristin Saenz. I started creating art work as a young child and art has always been a big part of my life and who I am. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fibers from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX.
I have been showing my work in a variety of places in Texas including the Dallas Ice House Cultural Center, the Texas Museum of Fiber Arts in Austin, Texas and Lonestar College- Cy-Fair campus in Cypress, Texas. I am also excited to say that I recently won the 2008 Emerging Texas Artist award at the Kerrville Arts and Crafts Fair in Kerrville, Texas.
A little over a year ago, while taking a fibers class at UNT, I learned about a new medium used to create soft sculptures: wool. Now I am creating my own critters out of New Zealand Corriedale wool and Merino wool and I love how each new needle felted animal comes out differently. They are all "one of a kind" pieces. I do not use patterns to create my little wool animals, I just go with the design where the wool leads me. It takes thousands of pokes with the needle to create each soft sculpture.

NEEDLE FELTED ANIMALS
Please let me know if you would like for me to design a needle felted miniature wool animal for you based on one of your pet's photos. Custom mini needle felted animals start at $40.00 each. Just send me a message and I will post a "Buy it Now" option on ebay for designing a commissioned soft sculpture.
PORTRAIT DRAWINGS
I can also create ink or pencil portraits for $75.00 USD each. Approximate drawing size will be around 9" x 11" inches. My drawings are done in hatching/crosshatching techniques. Please let me know if you would like for me to create one for you. Just send me a message and I will post a "Buy it Now" option on ebay for creating a custom drawing.
OTHER ITEMS
If there is something that you like in my sold items, just contact me and I will gladly make something similar to that particular item for you. I will then list it in auction format on ebay.
TERMS
All custom orders require full payment before an item is made. Custom orders are non-refundable.
