Around the country real estate values are increasing every year. This is as true today in the 21st century as it was in the late days of the 19th century. Even counting in several depressions or recessions, major ones in the late 18 hundreds and in the 1930's the value of land overall continues to rise.
On a recent trip to the mainland I came upon a book; America: Then and Now, which was produced under a grant from K-Mart in 1992 on the 30th anniversary of that company and I added it to my library. I was astounded by the growth of land development depicted in that book and I am already quite familiar with real estate projects. My family has been in land development since 1922, I have been for about 30 years, and my daughter Holly joined me in the business several years ago.
I want to share with you several of the projects that I found which show the prosperity and spirit of American enterprise.
Also included is an example from Hawaii where land values are once again increasing after being flat or down since 1992. Let's begin with that one.
