Welcome, y'all........

Many do not even know that Georgia has a coastline, but it consists of approximately 125 miles of marsh quilted wetlands and the Atlantic Ocean. We are fortunate in that our location lies in a small cove of Georgia's exteme lower southeast coast and that, coupled, with the Gulf Stream, often protects us from the ravages of nature when hurricanes come our way. I have traveled all over the United States and Europe and have found no other place I would choose to live. This area is rich in history and southern hospitality. So...... take your shoes off and relax a while!

The important things in life.......

One belief that I have is that the most important things in life aren't things....they are those who enrich our lives by our knowing and loving them. I have always been accused of seeing the world through rose colored glasses and perhaps some of that is true. I have always tried to find the good in everyone and accept those things that I cannot change. I am proud of the part of the country in which I live and proud of my heritage - English, Scotch-Irish, German, and Cherokee Indian (I think that makes me a Heinz). And, yes, contrary to what some may think, we DO wear shoes - at least SOME of the time -and even have paved roads! And don't ever let anyone convince you that the south is close minded for we are as others throughout the country - we respect people as individuals. Although my home is a small town, it is seven miles from the resorts of the beaches which give us the opportunity to meet people from all over the world.

My life has not been without tragedy, as I lost the most treasured blessing God ever loaned to me in 1999, my only child, a beautiful 21 year old daughter who I will always consider my best friend. She had just graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a degree in Social Work, was modeling, and engaged to a wonderful young man. But two days before my birthday, she was visiting with him and was involved in a jet ski accident and immediately, my world was dramatically changed. Although my life will never be the same, through God's grace, my appreciation of the beauty around me, the love of my friends and family (I'm an only child but blessed to still have my parents), beautiful memories, and the belief that I will be with her again, I have tried to go on. I have met many wonderful friends in the eBay community who have been so supportive and each is so important to me. My Dad, who was raised in proverty, has taught me two of the greatest lessons in life - always treat everyone in the manner you would want to be treated and never ask anyone to do something you wouldn't be willing to do yourself. It makes getting along with others so simple. Just always look for the good things in life - don't let the negatives drag you down - and if the brass ring comes your way, reach for it, for we have no guarantee of tomorrow. And, if it is within your way of life, start each day with the intent to make a difference - however small - in the life of another. For if you do, it will have been a wonderful day.
