So what is this all about
The economy sucks and honestly right now I am in no position to purchase anything, so why would I want this thing. Well, my commute to work is about 25-30 minutes and even though my Chevy Impala get about 35 MPG that doesn't beat what the scooter puts out at 60-70+ MPG.
The environment is dirty and green is my favorite color (even though the colors of most of the gear I picked out is pink) So in order to be part of the solution I want a scooter.
And the last reason for my unquenchable desire to own one of these babies--Dang! they are FUN!!! Please don't think I want one of those slow, 50cc, maxed out at 30MPH scooters with a flower basket in front, Hell no!! I want a MAXI-SCOOTER! 250cc, Highway legal, and will go about 75-90+ MPH. Depending on how much money I actually save (I still need to factor in gear and the safety/license course)
To make this work I will give myself a reasonable amount of time to do this as I am allotting myself one full year. I already opened a savings account and I will be keeping record of my savings and posting what I have saved and any interesting comments about the saving process. Most of the means for saving the money will be via coin bank (pocket change), profits from my face painting business, found cash ( seat cushions, and anything my husband dare leave lying around is fair game),birthday money and anything I sell on eBay. I can't use my salary from teaching 'cause I gots plenty o' bills to pay right now. At the end I will be able to determine what type of scooter I get. Will it be new or used, bare bones or pimped out...time will tell.
I also want to document my journey as a novice rider. I never actually drove a scooter. Yikes!!! I'm sure I'll have plenty to post about.
So follow along, offer me support, and see how I do at the end of this adventure.
