Yes, I like Edsels.  In fact, I think that just about all of the Edsel cars are pretty unique!  They are fun to drive and they gather the crowds around them at all the car shows... even better than the usual crowd pleasers!  Built by the Ford Motor Company, the Edsel was not a success during its three years of production from 1958 - 1960.  But today... the story has changed!

The car that you see here is my 1960 Edsel Ranger convertible.  There were just 76 convertibles built for 1960, and this is the highest serial number known to exist for a convertible from this year.  It was built on the last full day of production on October 30, 1959 at the Louisville, KY plant.   It still retains its original color of Turquoise with the beautiful Turquoise Metallic interior.  It has the optional 352 Express V8 with the Cruise-O-Matic three speed automatic transmission.  It's fast and smooth! 

Over the years, I have been a member of the Edsel Owner's Club and I joined the organization back in 1968 as one of the charter members.  I am now the Western Region Governor, live in the San Francisco Bay area, and belong to the Redwood Empire Chapter.  We currently have about forty members in our group and our president is one of the co-founders of the E.O.C. Mr. Edsel Henry Ford.  We all try to meet about every four to six weeks to visit some of our local points of interest as well as tour our cars in parades and other events. I have found that this organization has the friendliest and most knowledgeable people in the Edsel car hobby... It's a great group!
