I am a self-employed artist, craftsperson and teacher in The Dalles, OR which is about 1.5 hours directly east of Portland on the Columbia River. I've been making beads since 1991, my first class was a weekend workshop at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle and then I bought my torch and taught myself pretty much everything else! A lot of people wonder about the name of my business. It is technically Serena J.A. Smith Designs, but SJAS (my initials) are easier to say so that's where it comes from.
