I was born in Miami, Florida and planted in the South to
grow with a Northern Attitude. My family
says I was an artist all my life, but I spent most of it looking for a
medium I wanted to express myself in. For
those of you who don't know what this means, I have an entire room full
of unfinished art projects in different styles, just trying to find my
niche. Then one day....
I began making lampworked beads in 1999 and soon
realized I was hooked. My addiction to glass started then, along with
my business www.SETinGlass.net
The beads I make are made Moretti, Vetrofond, CIM's or ASK glass. Along with many of the newer silver colors available now. I am just starting with boro glass which is a wonderful new adventure. Each bead is designed by melting glass rods using a torch. The beads are then annealed in a digitally controlled kiln to reduce internal stress in the glass and to make a longer lasting bead. From whimsical to organic, sculpture work to my new love of boro, glass and lampworking always offers something new and exciting to learn.
In 2002 I began teaching classes in beginning and
intermediate glass bead making. I really love teaching and
sharing my knowledge and love of glass. Students always bring a fresh perspective and
keep me on my toes.
