We are a retired couple enjoying our slice of paradise. My hobby is my poultry. I sell their molted feathers and excess eggs to cover the expenses incurred during this enjoyable adventure. We delight in the new chicks each year from the peafowl, turkeys, ducks and chickens. These babies are such a delight to behold ~ raised by their parents.
Our poultry are free ranging in large well enclosed acreage. (predators line up on the outer perimeters, drooling but they can't get in.) Twice a day I go out and pick up the dropped feathers. This is a year around task. Some may have been dropped on the barn floor ~ you might find a speck of wood chip on these; that is NOT vermin - it is bedding.
In the case of the tiny feathers such as the lil blues and green/gold shells, the blow dryer comes into action. These tiny treasures are fluff dried after their drenching. At times I may use a diluted eucalyptus cleansing suds. Eucalyptus is a natural product. No chemicals, dyes or paints are used here. All sudsed feathers are throughly rinsed.
My Feathers Are from Turkeys, Peafowl, Chicken. All feathers that I sell are legal and from my domestic flock consisting of chicken, peafowl, duck and turkey. The black shoulder peahen's feathers are good simulations of the immature eagle. Some of my other peafowl breeds have feathers that mimic golden eagle. Some are good mocks of hawk or owl. Royal Palm turkeys give such a nice variance with their white feather with the black bars on it. Their wing and tail quills are super strong and intermingle with crafts, re-enactment as do the peafowl feathers Cochins give those lovely, soft, colorful feathers desireable in native crafts, amongst the doll dressers, millinery and other crafts. Quills: Wing and tail feathers of peafowl and turkeys are sought for scribing pen quills, re-enactment & frontiersman, native crafts, and wherever a rigid quill is needed.
Peacock Eyes: These feathers are the most beautiful of all! Generally I have to cut the long ones. Can't seem to find cardboard long enough to make shipping boxes for some of those. Others are shipped uncut. The listing will acknowledge same IF they required snipping. Awesome when displayed in prominent vases! Oohs & aahs are sure to cause favorable conversation

No, I do not insure feather packages. All feathers are shipped by USPS 1st class, unless otherwise stated in listings. I use USPS Delivery Confirmation. NONE of the packages have been lost. This is in part due to correct addresses given by buyers; strong packaging with correct labeling. It is not feasible to insure feathers as the cost of the extra packaging required by the PO would make shipping cost go up. Selling/shipping to USA onlyNo, I do NOT sell poultry on eBay. Yes, I sell my baby birds, but locally only - no shipping.
