Just why do I sell on Ebay and where does the money go?

First the why: I seriously considered getting a part time job to help make ends meet. Then I realized that I would be earning minimum wage, taking orders from some nameless, faceless manager, and lose time I would rather spend with my family. I LOVE to shop and shopping to bring you bargains...or treasure hunting as my older kids call it, doesn affect my bank account.

The second reason for selling clothing on Ebay is that as a household with only one parent working outside the home, I can afford to go out to the mall and drop $50 for a pair of jeans. Then I visited family back out west and saw that they have a real lack of affordable secondhand clothing for the family. This made me realize that not everyone has the same shopping opportunities and I already knew there are plenty of folks who can afford the mall prices.

I scouted around and chose 3 charitable sources for obtaining my inventory at the lowest possible cost so that I can pass those savings on to you.

And so where does the money go?

Over the past eighteen months my sales have funded two family vacations to visit relatives, Boy Scout Camp, Girl Scout Camp & Basketball Camp. It partially funded our Christmas shopping and helped us pay our high heating bills over the winter. This fall Ebay sales will make the $1000 down payment on my son braces and again provide Christmas for my children.

Future plans inclue several minor home repair projects and a trip to Disney World!
