Basic seller info, Q&A, etc...
Let's talk DSRs(detailed seller ratings): This misunderstanding of how DSRs work has got to cease. A lot of hardworking eBay sellers are being penalized simply because buyers don't understand how to process the proper ratings.
First of all, if you have a problem with a purchase, please contact your seller before leaving your feedback. Most problems can be solved with a little communication.
Item As Described: If the item arrives exactly as described in the listing..new/used/clean/dirty/full/partial/color/weight/etc... Then 5 highlighted stars are merited. If a supposedly "new" item arrives and is obviously not, then a reduced star rating should be applied. I base my decision on how far off the description is from the item I receive.
Communication: If you email a seller and they email you back, as long as they answer your questions in a timely manner 5 highlighted stars are merited. eBay asks that you wait at least 1-2 business days to receive answers to questions. Also, always email your sellers through eBay. Emailing us through our personal addresses may not get you a response. Some of us get so many emails at our personal email addys that your email may get buried, and never seen. Others like myself, do not open emails from unknown persons due to the high risk of viruses and worms. If a buyer emails through eBay message system to ask questions about their order, and absolutely no response is received, buyer should decide on a reduced star rating. Other than that, sellers usually communicate only twice during the transaction. Once when we send invoices, and once when your item has shipped. Many of us ship through Paypal, and buyers always receive an email confirmation with a tracking number for said package(s). Please check your spam filters to make sure these do not get hung up, and remember that 5 highlighted stars are merited.
Shipping Cost: Now this one is a little more complicated. Quite a few sellers charge handling and packaging fees, and this information is usually disclosed in the listing so the buyer knows about the charge before they buy the item. Some others do not charge those fees and/or have a shipping discount policy that discounts a partial amount per additional item and this too is usually noted in the listing. Since this information is openly available for the buyer to consider before making the purchase, when these fees are assessed after purchase, the seller should not be penalized by a buyer for applying the fees he/she already knew would have to be paid before deciding to purchase and 5 highlighted stars are merited. On the other hand, some sellers like to charge excessive shipping amounts for single items, because eBay does not charge a percentage on shipping costs, only for the item price. That is against eBay policy and the seller should be reported to eBay for violation. There are links at the bottom of every listing for doing so. Buyers should then decide on a reduced star rating depending on how excessive the overcharge was.
Shipping Time: Almost every seller states in listing details how often they ship, or how many business days it may take to ship your item(s). If this information is not noted in the description, click on the payments and shipping details tab to check if it is noted there. As long as a seller ships your purchases within the timeline they disclose in the listing, 5 highlighted stars are merited. You are not rating a seller on how quickly the delivery service used actually placed the item in your hands. Sellers should not be penalized with a reduced rating simply because you chose Parcel Post over Priority simply to save 10-25 cents. When a seller does not ship within the specified timeline, without communicating with a buyer about a legitimate reason for the delay, a reduced star rating should be applied.
Hopefully this insert will educate some of eBay's buyers so that good sellers will stop being penalized, simply because some buyers don't understand how the system works. I myself have received reduced ratings for communication, shipping costs and shipping time by a buyer, even though said buyer was given FREE shipping, the package shipped same day payment was received, and the shipping confirmation from Paypal was caught up in their own spam filter..
I do combine shipping, for all purchases or wins made within a 5 day period. Please wait for an invoice, when purchasing multiple items, so that I can assure that all shipping discounts are applied. eBay does not properly calculate weight or actual postage for multiple items, and always overcharges and/or neglects to remove shipping options that are not available for some package weight. This is why all of my listings bear the request that buyers wait for an invoice, before making payment for multiple purchases. This also applies to buyers purchasing multiples from the same listing.
Effective immediately: Due to the overwhelming number of members making multiple purchases and not bothering to wait for an invoice despite requests noted in each and every listing, on my ABOUT ME page, my store page, and on every item page that they do so, only overpayments of $2 or more will be refunded. I cannot continue to sit at my computer for 3-4 hours on a Saturday afternoon trying to track down every member who overpaid to process refunds. By my calculation, only 1 out of every 35 buyers are waiting for or requesting their invoices, the rest are in too much of a hurry to bother.
If you choose a shipping option that is not available for your package, your shipping will be upgraded to Priority, then the remainder returned. If you do not wait for an invoice for multiple purchases, and underpay your shipping as a result, you will be required to make up the difference before your items will ship.
Please remember to include your zip code, when emailing to inquire about shipping costs for multiple purchases. Also include an estimated list of what you are hoping to purchase, when inquiring about combined shipping rates. I can't help you if I don't know what you want, how much you want, or where it's going.
If you have a personal request, information, or a question about your purchase, please direct your messages through eBay's email system. Do not email me at my personal email address, because I do not open email from unknown persons in my personal email. If directed through my personal email, I may not see your message. In the same token, please do not note your special requests on your Paypal payment. I do not always get to browse through them before shipping your item.
The shipping address for your order, must match the shipping address on your eBay order detail page. Otherwise you must email me so that I may add an additional $1.75 for tracking to your invoice. When I print your shipping labels through Paypal, I am only allowed to ship to the address on the order detail page, and tracking is only 18 cents. If I have to ship to an alternate address, I have to print through USPS or take your package into town, and will have to pay full price for tracking. I do not ship without a tracking number.
I usually try to ship the same day I receive cleared payment for an item. Next business day, if paid late in the evening or during the weekend. Once in a while, however, life gets in the way and I need to delay the shipping of your items. I always try to ship within 3 business days of receiving cleared payment, but please remember I have a home, family and life of my own. Also, when making purchases during the holidays, please remember that my shipping days are limited to USPS schedule. If the Post Office is closed for the holiday, your package isn't going to be able to ship on those days. As a result, orders may get backed up, and others that were purchased and paid before yours will have to ship first. Special requests will be taken into consideration.
Effective immediately(2/07/09), USPS First-Class International orders(Canada, Asia, Europe, Mexico, etc...) will only ship once per week, on Friday mornings. I cannot print First-Class International labels online, so I must make the trip into town to ship them. I cannot continue to make this trip 4 times a week.
When I list items, they are in my home, in my possession, and can be ready to ship to you in a matter of minutes. I do not sell to you, then order the items from another sales agent, because I believe that to be a very poor business practice. I like to provide my customers with full satisfaction ASAP.
Most of the items I sell are new, and purchased solely for the purpose of selling on ebay. Once in a while, I will sell items pulled from my personal stash, that I had originally purchased for my own use. Usually, I will note this in the description of the item for sale.
I run my little sales operation, all by myself. Therefore, you should never receive any emails from anybody but me, in reference to your purchases from my listings.

I do crochet, so you can ask me any question about yarns, and I can almost always give you the answer to your question. Unless, it is a question about working with a yarn that I myself have not used before. I usually do not sell yarns, that I have never used myself, though. I like to be able to personally vouch for the quality of the yarns, in my listings.
I will gladly ship to P.O. boxes, and APO/AFO.
Most times, I use PAYPAL to ship. That means you don't have to wait for me to send you a shipping notification with a tracking#. Just click the dropdown box, for your purchased item, in your items won column. You will see several options. Click View Order, and then simply click on the tracking#.
My combined shipping discount policy is as follows. This applies to all purchases, or wins.
- Up to $50=Actual shipping costs, no packaging or handling fees
- From $50 to $100=U.S. 1/2 price shipping(International 25% Off)
- $100 or more=U.S. FREE shipping(International 50% Off)
Items paid for by PAYPAL E-CHECK, will not ship until the payment has cleared. This can take between 4 and 5 business days.
I only charge for actual shipping. There are no hidden handling fees in my shipping charges. Most times, I pay more to ship your package, than you have been charged.
I usually offer USPS First-Class, Parcel Post, and Priority shipping, but if you have another shipping method you would rather I use, simply let me know.
Purchases of 7Lbs. or heavier, are automatically eligible for UPS or FEDEX shipping, and this option will also be noted on an invoice. If you are eligible, and choose UPS or FEDEX, please remember to note your phone# on your paypal payment. This is strictly to be used for shipping purposes.
Now shipping worldwide!!! Destination blocks have been pulled, so you are now free to purchase from any listing. Please email me for rates, because all listings must be edited in order for the new shipping rates to show for these other countries. Some listings that have been purchased from will have to be ended, edited, then relisted.
I do offer refunds on returned items, for 2 weeks after receipt of item. I do not accept return of pattern books or leaflets, because they are too easy to copy.
Items returned must be intact, clean and unused. I will not accept return of, or issue refund, for items returned damaged or used. Shipping costs are non-refundable and buyer must pay all shipping costs to return items.
Insurance is optional, but encouraged. I will not accept return of, or issue refund for, items damaged or lost by any shipping service if insurance is not chosen.
I do not ship on a promise, otherwise known as PTP(promise to pay). Cleared payment must be received before your item(s) will ship.
Now that eBay has decided to go paperless, Paypal is my preferred way of receiving payment and is requested within 5 days of item purchase. If I do not receive payment within the specified time, and receive no response from you, I will file an unpaid item claim for non-payment and I will relist the items. You will also be blocked from any further purchases from my listings. If you do not think you can follow these payment guidelines, please do not bid or purchase from my listings.
Please leave feedback for your purchases or wins. I leave appropriate feedback immediately upon receiving cleared payment.
If you contact me, I will make a private listing for you. However, if you request a private listing, and do not purchase, the option will NOT be made available to you again. Most times when I do a private listing, I price the item(s) far below MSRP.
My picture gallery only shows up to 50 listings at a time. You will know if I have additional items for sale, not shown in the gallery, if the picture# on the top right corner of the gallery reads 50. If this is the case, in order to view all items for sale by me, you must click on view seller's other items.
If you bid on an item, for a family member or someone else in your home who may not have an EBAY account, YOU are responsible for completing the transaction if you are the winner. Please do not leave me hanging for weeks, with no response to invoices or emails, because you are waiting for someone else to take care of the tab. And please don't use profanity in your emails or paypal notes, when you do contact me or make payment for the item(s). I have blocked certain buyers for doing these exact things.
