"Rose in Golden Light"

| I've been in love with watercolor since the first time I touched brush to paper back in art school. I remember my heart quickening, feeling a little breathless and quite a lot giddy. Just like being in love - which it was! That was years ago, but the feeling remains. Each time I pick up the brush to paint, I'm in love all over again. I lose myself, surrendering to the fascinating process of making images appear where there was only white paper.
It's a magical process. Of course I've learned a lot of techniques through the years, but there is something indefinable that comes into play when the painting evolves without my conscious control. There's the magic. I'm transported beyond myself by the act of painting. And when I come back to earth, I'm renewed and full of joy, every time. |
