Graphic Designer

Monday - Friday: 9am - 5pm
*All times are Central Standard Time.

Saturdays & Sundays
I step away from the computer to focus on friends, family & recharging my creative energy.

Administrative Days
As a solo-designer, I take every 2nd Monday of the month off to catch up on all the boring, administrative tasks that would be left undone if I didn't take the time to focus on them.

So any emails received that day will be addressed the following day. Thank you for your understanding!

Design Consultations
If you would like to speak by phone, consultations can be scheduled either during or after-hours to accomodate your schedule.

About Boo
The dog behind the company.

My love & inspiration comes from Boo - my faithful companion for nearly 10 years.

I lost her unexpectedly on July 8, 2006 to non-regenerative bone marrow cancer. Boo was like any other Bullmastiff - she loved to just be in the room with you, sitting at - or in most cases, ON your feet.

When I decided to begin my own graphics company, as I spent hours creating images, there she would be - sitting at my feet. So it was only natural that I name my company after my silent, but ever-constant partner.

My sitting Boo became SittingBoo Productions.

About the Artist
The woman with the dog.

Hi, my name is Jennifer Hendrickson. I've been a graphic & web designer for the past 6 years. My art education began at the age of 5 and includes oil painting, charcoal, pencil and art posters. I have created several websites, designing all the graphic elements and performing all HTML coding.

My most recent accomplishments include providing design services for a New York based event management company. These services ranged from backstage passes/credentials for multiple events - including a US Presidential event, event signage, stage backdrops, podium pieces, invitations & envelopes, step & repeats used in photo ops for such names as Sandra Day O'Connor & US Sec. of Defense Robert Gates, commemorative take-home pieces as well as video graphics.

Boo Charities
Because every dog needs a bone!

As a small business owner, I know how hard it is to get started. That's why Kiva really appealed to me: an organization that spotlights small business owners seeking micro-loans.

Donate as little as $25 to a business owner of your choice. Kiva transfers the money to the local financial partners who in turn distribute the funds to the business. As the loans are paid back the funds can either be returned to you or reinvested in another business. Good kharma spreading good kharma.

Victoria's case appealed to me because she's working under a deadline. She wants to buy more tables & chairs in preparation for the Semana Santa festival coming up. And for a restaurant owner, more tables means more business. Besides, can't you just imagine the fabulous food she makes?

I was gladly her first contributor & watched in amazement as she had raised all $725 in under 48 hours! Wow!!! I don't what was more exciting - knowing I was helping someone expand her business or watching her fundraising levels get higher & higher.

Sourced from Kiva.org
"Victoria is married, is 57 years old and has two children. Along with her husband, Victoria owns a chicken restaurant named 'La Merced', which is located in her home on a central street of the city of Ayacucho... [read more]"

Design Process
A Step-by-Step Explanation

Step 1: Research
Research is key! As a designer, it's my job to communicate your message & identity visually. So you'll receive a Style Questionnaire to help me learn more about you & about your business. It covers topics such as:

  • your company name & tag line
  • your product line (do you sell similar or repeat items? or do you sell a mixed lot of items that fall into broad categories?)
  • your customer demographic
  • your color preferences
  • your branding vision or sense of style.

I'll also ask for images of your product(s) and for at least 3 links to websites, blogs or other stores you like the look or feel of. This is not to copy their design, but for me to get a visual understanding of what you like in order to create your own unique look.

That's my job as a designer. To choose the right images that communicate the message you want to send & the message your buyers want to hear - making them sit & take notice.

Step 2: Design
The design phase is done in 3 parts: initial concept, first draft & final design.

Providing the initial concept takes the most amount of time to complete (generally a couple of days). But after each phase, you will be emailed a link to view the design. Each time you'll be given the opportunity to make any suggestions or request changes.

Once the final design is agreed upon & coding has begun, there can be no more changes without an additional cost.

Step 3: Coding
As coding begins, your design will be optimized for the web (for fast-loading), all links will hard-coded & any text you have for your About Me page, store page or template will be due at this time to be loaded upfront.

Step 4: Installation
All eBay store packages come with free installation. I will need temporary access into your website or image host - as well as auction listing service, if you use one.

Once installed, you have unlimited tech support for 30 days to ensure everything's working fine.

Photobucket Image Hosting
What is Photobucket? And do I need it?

The eBay store designs & auction templates I create have multiple images that need to be stored on a server for your design or template to display properly. A server is just another way of saying a computer that's connected to the internet 24/7 - serving access to those images. This can be your own website or a photo host account.

If you already have your own website, they can be uploaded & stored there.

If you do not have your own website, you will need to open an account with a photo host. I recommend using Photobucket. But please check them out for yourself as there are other free services available online.

Vista Print
Information for my eBay Design Print Add-On's

When you purchase a print add-on to your eBay Store design - such as a business card or letterhead - the design file is created to Vista Print's specifications.

Please note - you are not required to use Vista Print and SittingBoo is in no way associated with Vista Print. They just happen to offer low prices for small business owners & are a popular online printing company. There are many other online printers that offer the same service at competitive rates so please feel free to do your own research.

If you wish to use a different printer, I will need to know their name & contact information upfront so that I can design your file to their specifications.

To learn more about Vista Print, their minimum orders, prices & additional fees, please visit their website.
