Hi There…
My
name is Joe. In mid-2008, I was laid-off from my job due to cost cutting. These days, I do a lot of selling on eBay;
the name of my store is the size9outlet.
I thought of the name because in men’s shoes and boots, size 9 is
typically the sample size that manufacturer reps carry. I’ve sold many samples on eBay over the
years and the name just stuck.
Stuff
that I use myself and find a great prices! When I sell gear here, it is because
I've used it or would use it.
Much
of the time, I'll come across a great item that falls into a hobby like
snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, boating, electronic gadgets (there are
too many of these to list), or hi-fi gear. I'm also into audio production and
music. If spot a great piece of gear at a great price, I’ll snatch it up and
put it up as either a store listing or standard auction listing so that you can
find a great item at a fair price.
My wife is getting into it as well, so she’s the expert of all things
sold in the size9outlet that appeal to female buyers.
If
you’re bidding on any of my items, the policies listed below apply to all
transactions; no exceptions! One
thing I’ve learned over the years is that things like these, while sometimes a
pain, protect both the buyer and the seller.
Thanks
for stopping-by. I hope you find
what you’re looking for!
Size9Outlet Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you charge $X.XX for shipping?
There are a lot of items out there with "free" shipping.
I charge what it costs for me to
ship you your item, plus packing materials such as tape, padding and
packaging. Even though I try to
use as much recycled packing material as possible, it still costs money to ship. In addition, I also have to drive to a
FedEx or UPS drop-off location, or pay them to come to me for a pickup. Not only does package weight affect the
shipping cost, but size does too; items such as snowboards, stereo equipment
and desktop computers will be considered oversize after they are packed. Please try to factor shipping into your
total bid price. For more
information on this topic, please see this
page.
In some of your auctions offer free
shipping, what's the catch?
If I offer free shipping, either in
the auction listing or in the auction description, I will cover the actual cost
of shipping, handling, packaging, and delivery confirmation and will always
select the most cost effective shipping method. Insurance is optional and is paid for by the buyer, so are
other shipping options such as signature confirmation, Saturday delivery, etc. If the buyer does not elect to buy
shipping insurance, I cannot be responsible for loss or damage to the item;
once an item is given to the shipper, my ability to be responsible for it no
longer exists. FREE SHIPPING
APPLIES ONLY TO THE CONTINENTAL 48 STATES. SHIPPING TO AK AND HI WILL ACTUAL SHIPPING COSTS. International shipping charges always
apply.
It took my item a few days to get to
me; what gives?
If you need your item sooner than
later, please arrange it with me and be prepared to pay for upgraded
shipping. For example, Media Mail
takes up to 9 days to deliver, vs. Priority Mail, which can as little as 2
days. With shipping, you get what
you pay for and the least expensive shipping methods take the longest to
deliver. I am NOT responsible for
this, the carrier is.
Do you ship to
APO Addresses?
YES! It is my pleasure to ship to those who
are serving our country! Shipping
to Military addresses goes via USPS mail and costs the same as domestic
postage.
Do you ship
Internationally?
Yes, I'm
more than happy to ship overseas!
Please do not try to negotiate a lower shipping/handling fee for
international shipments.
International shipments take almost three times longer than domestic
shipments and Global Express takes me the least amount of time to fulfill your
order. I'll be up front and
tell you that several international bidders have backed-out of the deal when
they get billed for customs duty when the item is delivered. At this point, the item will be shipped
to back to me at my expense.
Because of this, any international bidders that refuse an item based on
duties/import taxed, etc. will be issued a refund based on the purchase price
of the item, less eBay fees, PayPal fees, outbound and return shipping and a
50% restocking fee. I hate to be
so strict with this, but by the time an item goes overseas and comes back, it
is usually too late to get a refund for the costs that it takes to sell on
eBay. Refunds in this case will
only be issue upon satisfactory return of the item in unworn/unused/original saleable
condition. If the item is lost or
damaged during return shipment, no refund will be issued, because return
shipments are not insured. If you
live outside of the US and don't want to pay duty or don't have a PayPal
account, please do not bid.
***CUSTOMS
ADDS TIME TO SHIPPING TO ANOTHER COUNTRY!** THE POSTAL SERVICE PROVIDES
ESTIMATES FOR THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT WILL TAKE TO TRAVEL FROM THE US TO ANOTHER
COUNTRY. THIS IS AN ESTIMATE ONLY
AND ACTUAL TRANSIT TIME MAY VARY DEPENDING HOW LONG YOUR ITEMS SITS IN
CUSTOMS. IN MY EXPERIENCE THE
LONGEST CUSTOMS DELAYS OCCUR WHEN SHIPPING TO CANADA. AGAIN, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DELAYS IN DELIVERY DUE TO
CUSTOMS.
If you are
not allowed to bid or your country does not appear on the shipping calculator,
the I will not ship this item to your country. This is usually due to USPS size restrictions.
Oooops! I had old ship-to information in our PayPal transaction or
eBay checkout; the item was returned to you, so can you re-ship it?
Please make sure that the shipping
address that is listed in your PayPal account is correct. In the event that an
item is undeliverable and is returned to me, I am more than happy to reship, as
long as the buyer pays for the second shipment. This also applies for items with free shipping. In some cases, charges for return shipping
may apply.
You're
hooking-me up and sending this item outside of the US. Can you mark the item as a gift and
declare the value at a low number so I can save on duty?
NO! I may as well ask you to rob a bank in
return, because robbing banks and intentionally misreporting export items is a
felony. By underreporting the
value, I can't insure the item for what it is worth. If the item gets damaged, we both lose.
I live in a
country called _________. How much
will duty be?
I really
don't know. You may want to make
of the retail price of the item and check with your country's customs
department.
Do you offer
local pickup?
Yes, but on
a case-by-case basis; please email me to make arrangements. Use of this service is free. When payment clears, I will provide you
with the pickup address. If you
wish to pay with cash, I will provide you with the address, but the item will
not be released until payment is tendered. If eBay checkout forces you to pay shipping, I will issue a
credit prior to providing you with the pickup address.
Are you an
authorized _______ dealer?
No.
What is your
reserve Price?
If the
reserve has not been posted, then I will not disclose it. My reserve is usually
set at my cost for the item.
I'm new to eBay, can I bid on your
item?
Please do.
If you have negative feedback, I will not accept your bid. Sorry to be so
harsh, but I've tried to accommodate all bidders and many of them have wasted
my time. If your feedback is 5 or less, I require you to pay within 5 days of
auction close via PayPal only. I
also require you to respond to the eBay invoice that you will receive if you
win my auction. I feel that this is plenty of time for you to get a PayPal
account set up. I also feel that this is a fair policy. Ask any experienced
eBay seller: if a new eBayer bids frivolously and wins the auction without
intending to buy an item, the seller has to fill-out forms and pay fees because
people want to window shop. That is a total waste of time. If you don't bother
paying within 5 days, I'll submit a non-paying bidder form and file negative
feedback so my fellow sellers don't have to waste their time as well.
How long does it take you to ship?
I require
a window of 3-5 business days to get your item out. I normally
don't take 3-5 business days to ship, but if I'm slammed at work, I may need
it. If you have a special need, please let me know before bidding.
Can you send me a tracking number?
Yes, if
there is one available. If I ship via priority mail, you'll get tracking
information from PayPal. If I ship via FedEx Ground, you'll get tracking
information from FedEx. Please be aware that both methods sometimes get shot
down by spam blockers, so check your junk mailbox. Also, some shipping
services, like Parcel Post are not trackable, so please allow ample time for
delivery and have faith that the US Postal Service is a reliable courier. **International Bidders: I do not guarantee tracking for
packages that ship overseas (most affordable overseas shipping options may not
offer tracking, depending on the destination country).**
Do you take
personal checks?
No;
absolutely not. Just ask any eBay seller. Most of us have at least a dozen good
stories about the $25 in bounced check fees that we incurred for the sale of an
$8 CD.
Do you accept
credit cards?
Only through
PayPal; I don't have a merchant account. Trust me, it's safer for both the
buyer and seller if we use PayPal.
Is this item
new? Is it first quality?
Yes, unless
I tell you in the "Item Condition" section of this listing. You would
not believe how many people ask me if a snowboard has been ridden when I
describe it as "brand new".
If the item condition is not quite new, I'll go into more detail with
regard to condition. If you ask if
the item is new when I describe it as new, you won't hear back from me.
Where did you
get this item; why are you selling it?
I'm a gear
nut. If I see a great deal on gadgets or gear, I'll buy several units of an
item and sell them. Selling gear is really the only way I can support my habit.
I also sell stuff that I've upgraded or I just don't need anymore. My family
also has me list stuff, since I'm set up to sell. I also buy tons of stuff at
clearance sales, sample sales, etc.
I'm a good shopper, so I like to capitalize on it.
Will you end
the auction early to sell this item?
In most
cases, yes. However, don't low-ball me, I won't respond to your e-mail. If I do
respond, I'll probably be a smart a**.
Sometimes, I honestly don't know what a fair price is for an item,
(that's why I like auctions in the first place) Please bid your highest amount,
that way I can use the "end auction and sell to highest bidder"
feature that eBay offers.
This is the best way for both the seller and the buyer to get what is
fair. Please don't low ball me
with you offer; research what the item goes for before you make the offer. If your offer is fair, I will really
consider it. I have only accepted
two offers this year, because they were reasonable. Most offers are WAY below my cost, like the dude who offered
me $15 for a $250 pair of current year bindings.
Will you
exempt me from your buyer's requirements?
(Yes, people
have really asked me this question!) What makes you so
special? Buyer requirements are
there for a reason and just about everyone abides by them.
Important Notes for Bidders (Shipping and Auction terms are
here)
Unless
otherwise noted, buyer pays Shipping/Handling
within the continental United States.
See auction details at the top of the listing page for my fixed-price
shipping/handling rate. I ship ground with delivery tracking (tracking information will be
e-mailed directly from carrier/PayPal), signature confirmation and insurance.
Please keep an eye on your Bulk mailbox or spam filter; sometimes, tracking
messages get blocked. If you live outside the Continental US (i.e. the lower 48
states), plan on paying more for shipping. PLEASE include your phone number
with payment so that I can provide it to the shipping company. In the event
that shipping costs or transit time is excessive or FedEx does not service the
recipient address, I reserve the right to use alternate delivery methods such
as USPS, Airborne or UPS. I reserve the right to refuse sale/cancel bids for
bidders with excessive negative feedback/poor payment history. In the event
this item arrives at it's destination damaged, I will file a claim with the
shipper. I make no guarantees that the shipper will approve the claim, nor do I
guarantee how long a claim will take to be fulfilled. When and if a shipping
insurance claim must be filed, I can only guarantee that I will follow
procedure as required by the shipper and be as timely as possible when dealing
with issues that are within my direct control. Item will ship within 4-5
business days of payment clearing. If circumstances prevent me from meeting
this ship window, I will notify auction winner via e-mail. I strive to complete
transactions within eBay's 30-day window, therefore payment MUST be received
within 5 days or non-paying bidder notification then negative feedback will be
filed and item will be relisted.
All Sales Final! I will only accept
returns if there was an error on my part.
eBay users
with a feedback rating of 5 or less: you MUST use PayPal within 5 days of auction
close or this item will be relisted.
You also have to contact me within 3 days of auction close. If I do not hear from the auction
winner within 3 days of auction close, I will assume that the winner does not
want to complete the transaction.
Non-paying bidders take-up more of my time than all other bidders,
combined.
I do not
accept personal checks; they will be automatically returned!
