After living in large cities for 18 years, I recently back to the city. I've done lots of moving around in those 18 years from Texas, Arizona, California and Florida. I've collected a lot of treasures from across the country.
One evening after trying to find a place for all my stuff, I had a "light bulb moment"! I discovered that I'm not a collector, I'm a treasure hunter. All those "things" that I had carted around for years, really didn't mean anything to me. It was the search and acquistion of them that gave me pleasure.
I love bargain hunting at any level, garage sales, estate sales, salvage yards, curbside trash, and auctions. I could name many other venues, but you get the idea.
I don't feel like an auction is a success unless I have a box to take home and go through to see what unexpected items might be hiding there.
So naturally the evolution to ebay was perfect. Now I can share my treasures and still have room to explore for new items.
I really don't have any certain items that I look for, but vintage quilting and vintage dolls are two of my favorites. My favorite find was a 1950's Madame Alexander Wendy-kins doll with a suitcase filled with tagged clothing and accessories. It was at an auction thrown back on the boxed lots. It was my first vintage doll. I didn't know anything about her except the brand and that she was cute. Needless to say, it was a good investment.
Now that I've opened my ebay store I'm having all kinds of fun looking for inventory. It's great to have a goal! Please stop by my store. It's open 24/7 and the shelves will be filling in the near future.
I've recently changed my ID to help with all those spoof emails. I hope it helps. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience for anyone.
