| Through innovative conservation programs, effective partnerships and the latest science and research, the Snow Leopard Trust is saving the magnificent snow leopard and improving the lives of communities living in snow leopard habitats of Central Asia. Established in 1981, by Helen Freeman, the Snow Leopard Trust is a 501-c3 non-profit organization based in Seattle, Washington.
The endangered snow leopard is being protected in the wild by communities that share their habitats in Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan. These impoverished families participate in our handicraft program- creating beautiful and unique crafts from the wool of their livestock to sell through the markets we provide them - and increase their annual incomes by an average of 40%. In return, the families work together to save the lives of snow leopards through conservation agreements with the Snow Leopard Trust. |
