| Sofia's Fancies, Things My Mother Loved was the name of a store I owned many years ago. I named the store that long name after my mother. She had recently been murdered by a man who thought it was a great idea to kill himself by driving head on into traffic. He lived. My mom who loved life died. The store was a tribute to what my mom (Sofia) loved. The store featured a fine art gallery, a gift shop, a full service Pet Shop, and a bargin store. It was an unusual combination but my mom was a very unusual woman whp touched many, many lives. I will never forget this one thing about her funeral; it was held in one of the largest churches in town and there were so many people in attendance that every room of the church was filled and listening through the intercalm system PLUS people actually stood outdoors and in the parking lot to pay their last respects. I often wonder if even 10 people would come to mine? |
