EBAY SHOPPING TIPS

TIP # 1 SEARCHING EBAY

Learn to use the Advanced Search button, located right below Search. From there check off "Check Item Descriptions". This will allow you to find items with words that were not found in the title alone. Ebay gives 55 characters to write the Title, so if you are looking for a specific model number you are more likely to find it faster. Happy Shopping!

TIP # 2 SHOPPING WITH BLINDERS ON and how to break that bad habit!

I see this all the time on ebay, where an auction starts two hours ahead of another. But people have already placed that item in their "Watch this item" list. The potential buyers are then only focused on this item as they see it everytime they visit their My Ebay page. Basically, when you see that item in your my ebay you are able to place a note with it. I want you to put a note there to yourself to check new listings frequently. Most likely, you will find new listings and deals you might have missed out on. Get those blinders off today!

TIP # 3 COMMUNICATE WITH SELLER PRIOR TO BIDDING

So you just found the perfect addition to your collection of doo-dads. Yet, the seller's feedback is okay, but very infrequent. Also, the description does not clearly state the condition of the item. You begin to question the true shipping charges as there is no shipping calculator. What do you do? Send them an email and ask. Record the date and time sent in notes in your my ebay page with that item you are watching. Watch to see how quickly and neatly the seller responds. I also for my own protection have the item I am buying insured for the complete total amount I paid, including the shipping and insurance. By questioning the seller in advance you are better prepared to know what you are buying and what kind of seller you are trading with.  I automatically add the full insured value as the total paid by the buyer, if the buyer chooses to purchase insurance. Questions?
