After spending more than 30 years working with all sizes and types of computers for fortune 500 companies I decided I wanted a simpler life, or at least one with less driving.
I have been successfully selling items on eBay since early 1999. I recently decided to start selling items for people who don't have the time, access, equipment, desire, or skills to list items for themselves. Currently working with individuals, stores, and non-profit organizations, SoldTwiceInc is helping convert spare items into spending cash.
Hi. My name is Ann. I am the owner of SoldTwiceInc, a newly established trading assistant. I have been selling items under the eBay user name of jaguar-lady as well as SoldTwiceInc. Please refer to my feedback score; you can trade with confidence under either of my accounts.
While I have not specifically assisted in selling all types of items, dealing with a new item has never stopped me before. You have to start somewhere. Let me tell you how I usually work.
Whenever I start working with a client, we talk about the kind of items they want to sell and, more importantly, their expectations. Are they more interesting in getting the item sold quickly or getting the best price? Does it have to be sold in a particular time frame? Is there a price at which they would rather keep the item or give it to a friend? This type of information will help me determine the best way to market the items.
I look at web sites and other auctions on eBay. I find out what type of information other sellers are including, what the bidders want to see, what type of questions they might ask, and if the market place is there.
If an item looks like it will sell, I will arrange another meeting. By that time I will know the average price for recent auctions. I may also suggest grouping a collection of similar items to attract people who want to buy larger quantities or lots.
I can either pick up the items or we can meet in a neutral place such as a coffee shop. (I do not currently have a store front where items can be dropped off.) And, yes, the original box always makes for a better auction price. Please, if available, have the boxes with the items for sale.
I take pictures from all angles and describe the items as thoroughly as possible. This is all needed to entice the online viewers into bidding. They need to know on what they are bidding. They need all the information I can give them. I may be working for you but I need to be the hands and eyes of the lookers. Hopefully this all leads to a higher price. So, the more information you can provide for the listing, the better for both of us.
All items are securely stored until such time as they sell or are returned to the owner. If the item sells and after receiving clear payment, the item is packaged and sent it on its way to its new owner. I do ship world-wide which expands the audience for your items.
Once the item has been received and the new owner is satisfied, I issue a check to the client for at least 70% of the bid price. Checks usually go out about every other week. Items that sell for more than $500 get paid out a higher percentage. More than $1000, an even higher percentage.
If an item has no market or the market is too depressed (like those little stuffed toys from a few years ago) I will let you know that too. If I know of another way for you to dispose of your items, such as a contribution to a local charitable organization, I will let you know that as well as how to get in touch with them.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions or would like to arrange a meeting.
I hope that we can work together in the future.
Sincerely,
Ann Hahn
