My formal academic training focused on civil engineering, followed by the formation of a software company, but I decided to pursue my true talent full time just over a year ago. My goal is to produce works that have a voice, to broaden my skills and continue to push the envelope of art to discover new beauties and images of inspiration. To me when I paint, I see it as a challenge to uncover the image, much like a sculptor carves stone.

I have a truly unique range in style and form, from high realisms with a retro feel, bold female nudes, subdued impressionisms, unique abstracts and surrealistic landscapes.

No subject matter is too mundane and I prefer a challenge, as those tend to lead to fantastic paintings. My paintings have been available on Ebay since 1999, however I never took it seriously then. Now that I have focused on my artwork full time, the value of my paintings have tripled!  Sorsdahl works can be seen gracing the walls of private homes and businesses throughout Canada and the USA as well as, Germany, England, Ireland, Switzerland, Norway, the Netherlands, Mexico and China.

Being from a small beautiful city in Canada, the Internet has provided a unique opportunity to showcase my artwork to the world instead a small number of people passing by a gallery window. My personal website and auction sites have allowed thousands of people to view each painting. Representing myself allows for greater control and flexibility in every aspect of art.

The most popular word used to describe Sorsdahl paintings has to be vibrant. Sorsdahl works are definitely known for the use of bold color with dramatic contrasts and a surreal feel. Many of the paintings contain ongoing themes including the struggle to survive in nature and the beauty that is present in those wild, untamed parts of the world.
