Sow's Ear Antiques and BOOKs is located near Eureka Springs Arkansas in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. My wife Susan is the owner and operator of the shop and I (Dan) help out as best I can. I usually handle the book buying and selling. Sow's Ear is a small shop that mostly sells primitive and fine antique furniture, collectible glass and pottery, and the usual curious and wonderful objects one finds in an antique shop. Susan also sells handcrafted patio and lawn and garden furniture made by Ozark Mountain crafters. Last year, Sow's Ear Antiques was mentioned as "a place to go" by Architectual Digest Magazine.

The BOOK end of the business is a revolving collection of about 7,000 books that is comprised of mostly hard backed popular fiction, antiquarian and rare volumes, literary fiction, history, popular culture, philosophy and religion, and so on. Basically, our inventory is the stuff that we like to read. I carry a little bit of fantasy, science fiction, and some cowboy paperbacks for tired guys waiting on their wives to finish shopping. I enjoy talking with these guys and the coffee pot is always on. Sow's Ear Antiques and BOOKs sponsors an annual short story and poetry contest for writers living in Arkansas and we have a few book signings every year. Please stop in and see us!
