I am specie-man, also known as Daniel Carr, designer of the New York and Rhode Island state quarters for the US Mint. I am also the designer and minter of numerous other coins. "Specie" is an old word which refers to money in the form of metal (silver and gold).

I am currently proprietor of the private Moonlight Mint. I was the first person to mint Union of North America "Amero" coins, starting in mid-2007. More recently, another entity has started offering pewter 1-Amero coins on eBay. These are minted in China. My Amero coins are minted in the USA by Moonlight Mint, using pure copper, pure silver, and pure gold.

Some of the prototype coins that I have minted in the past have recently been counterfeited, and some of those have appeared on eBay. These counterfeits are crude and can be easily spotted by comparing them to the pictures in my Counterfeit Alert Page.
