Welcome to Spiritwolf's den!
Update 6-22-08
I changed my Ebay nickname to Spiritwolf! because Spiritwolf! is a nic that fits better than Angel-1337 (Angel-1337 is my first ebay ID, taken from my yahoo chat id that friends first thought of for me a long time ago.)
I've learned a lot since I first came to Ebay, and I'm still learning and hopefully, improving. At first, it was a matter of learning the basics. Then I found I liked Ebay because of the PEOPLE here. After an initiation of good buying experiences and a lot of exploring (and amazement at the immense variety of items sold here), I decided this would be a good place to showcase and sell my artwork, where anyone in the world can see it, anytime.
I love doing artwork and enjoy trying to take my work to a level beyond the common, the typical, and the ordinary. (One drawback of doing my own artwork is that I have so many ideas and good artwork takes time to create. Thus there's no way I can create new things as fast as I think of ideas for things I want to create! Bringing those ideas into artistic reality is a process that lags far behind my ideas!)
Those of you who are creative know what I mean when I speak of the creative drive that inspires an artist. When that creative drive is active, it's almost impossible to ignore, and the artistic process just "flows", the artwork almost creates itself. If that drive isn't active, it can be difficult to create anything. (Sure, you can make yourself do the work even if you can't awaken the creative energy, but when you listen to the creative force and let it propel you, the resulting work is better because it has the energy of the heart and spirit in it.)
While I may not always have a large quantity of things in my store, everything I make has an element of spirit in it, the energy of that creative force that inspired its making.
I've found people on Ebay overall to be really wonderful to deal with in both buying and selling. I try to follow the Golden Rule of treating others as I want to be treated. I also am fascinated by people, because I learn something new about life from everyone I meet. I learn about different lifestyles, different places, different ways, and most of all, I am reminded that we all have much more in common.
We all are human, all sharing human thoughts, human emotions, human needs, human spirit, and we all share the finite resources of this closed system we all live together on, planet Earth. We all breathe the same air, share the same water. Whenever I hear, see, or read of such things as chemical weapons, nukes, etc, I ask myself "don't those people realize that if they nuke, etc, someone else, they too will have to breathe the poisoned air and drink the poisoned water?"
In the end, the Golden Rule is the rule that benefits everyone the most. If everyone would have empathy for their fellow human beings, and treat others as they want to be treated, this world would become a far better, more peaceful, happier place!
Spiritwolf is my Native American name. I named my ebay store Spiritwolf's Productions because that name felt like it reflects my wide variety of interests and art. My favorite thing to do in creating artwork, is to create art that looks as realistic and lifelike as possible. I have done artwork ever since I was a little kid.
For me, selling isn't just about business, it's another part of the process driven by creative energy. The creative force that led a piece to be created, has a purpose for that piece, and selling is also the avenue for a piece to find its way to where it was meant to go, to the person who was meant to have it. I am always glad when I know a piece is safely in the buyer's hands and thrilled to hear the person likes it. Every time I am told that a buyer likes the piece they bought, it reaffirms the fact that the spirit energy that inspired me to create that piece, knew what it was doing and where that piece was meant to go, even before the piece was made, which in turn gives me more confidence in creating new pieces.
(I apologize if this is too long and wordy, I was reflecting on the way the positive force of creative energy flows from the beginning as an idea, to reaching the hands of th person it's meant for, when I wrote this update!)
My picture here is what I painted on my drum to represent me and my Native American name, Spiritwolf.
Although I've been doing artwork for years,I only recently decided to try to sell my items on ebay. I find that my creations don't fit well into any particular category and trying to figure out what category they are most likely to be seen in is still a challenge. That was part of what propelled me into deciding to open an ebay store, giving me a place and a url where all my items can be seen in one place.I have only been on ebay a short time, have learned a lot, and of course, have lots more yet to learn. One thing that impresses me is that in my experience, I've found ebay buyers and sellers to be very nice people, patient when patience was needed, helpful, and great to buy from, sell to, and communicate with!
