Squeakybabies began partly out of a love of buying baby shoes for my daughter Lea, and partly because we wanted to tell the world about squeaky shoes! While vacationing in Thailand and China, my in-laws came across some cute little shoes that they thought would be darling for the kids. Little did we know they made noise until one of the kids kicked their heels together in her car seat! When Lea was old enough to take her first steps, we put the squeaky shoes on her that we had saved for over a year. Lea looked confused for a moment when she heard the little squeak, then took another step and squealed with delight! We all laughed and she laughed and then she kept trying to make the sound. We soon realized this was not only cute and fun, but a great learning tool. None of us had ever heard of such a thing! No one we knew had ever heard of "squeaky" shoes! As Lea's feet grew, I became worried that I wouldn't be able to find any in a larger size. I was happy to find a store on the internet that had them, and I was so happy to actually find the very same shoe! It wasn't long before I realized that I had become passionate about baby shoes! I decided that I needed to get into a business that I really enjoyed, and here it is! Years later, the world has become much more familiar with squeaky shoes and there's a good reason... They're fun!
