I first started making sock monkeys about 3 years ago, on a whim. The first one had a skull on it's arm, striped arms and a pirate swagger.
3 years later, my craft has evolved into what you see now, and is headed into a whole new realm as I create character monkeys that can be duplicated by hand... and put on everything from t-shirts to plastic charms.
Sock Monkeys are one of my favorite things to make. The feeling they give their new owners is amazing. I love hearing how well they are received.
My monkeys are crafted with quality in mind. I use strong threads, double stitching and overlock [serger] the limb seams to help with durability. They've come a long way... since that very first one.
