What's a "StarWarsSniper"? That's usually the first question... Well, I started my eBay experience looking for vintage star wars toys... late 70's early 80's toys (I was born in '71, so I was a kid when Star Wars came out). I discovered that I could buy large lots... pick out the items I needed for my collection & relist the remaining items piece by piece... usually breaking even if not making a few bucks.... buying & selling vintage star wars items has been put on hold for now, burnt out I suppose.. I've thought of changing my user name since I don't chase down vintage star wars toys as much, but alot of people know me by that name now... so... who knows, maybe one day. |
For the past 7 years, my eBay niche has become the 91-94 Mercury Capri convertible. Honestly the first time I recall seeing one is when my brother drove one home maybe 8-10 years ago.. I asked.. what is that? He brought me up to date on all things Aussie Capri!
I had to have one!! I bought my first one on eBay, it was a '93 automatic, maybe 7 months later, I found a nice red '94 5 speed, so I sold my '93 automatic back on eBay & bought the '94. Well about a year passed & guess what? I found a red '94 XR2 from a guy named Tony in Texas. I sold my '94 standard.. again... and my wife & I flew to Texas & brought home my first '94 XR2 turbo... and then.... well at last count I've purchased almost 70 of them.. Yes, I know.. 70! My goal is, if repairable, I'll fix them up and get them back on the road. Especially the '94 model year. Those are the hard ones to get. Rumored only 4000 '94 model years made & only 366 '94 XR2's! If a Capri has a blown motor, or too many cosmetic issues, I part them out right here on eBay. Bring them in, tear them down, or fix them up. I'm pretty much your Indiana Crossroads Capri center! I'm located 15 mins north of Louisville Kentucky.
A little about my auctions:
Where do I get my parts? All my items have been pulled from parts cars that I have purchased. There are not many Capri’s left, if they are repairable, I often times put them back together, usually drive them a few months & send them on their way. But at today’s shops prices if I can not do so and keep the costs down, they are parted out on eBay with the hopes of keeping other Capri’s on the road.
Feedback: Feedback is very important to most eBayer’s & I must certainly agree that at times things happen, either delay in payment, items ruined in transit where Insurance must be involved to recover loss, items lost in transit or delay in shipments on my part. All I ask is that before posting derogatory feedback, please drop me a line or call, my cell at 502-299-5085. If you feel I have not been responding, PLEASE check your junk-mail & or spam filters. I try to always reply. Many situations can be quickly resolved, but feedback is forever!
Electrical: Items such as power window motors, headlight motors, computers, relays & switches, all items were pulled from cars & were tested BEFORE removal. If your item does not work upon installation, there are other things that can cause this. But, I will gladly refund your winning bid price minus the cost of shipping, upon return of the item I shipped.
The few: Unfortunately, since this has been tried I will at least make note of this. For the very few out there that like to abuse a return policy, all my items are marked, if someone attempts to return an item that was not the one I sent, trying to pawn off their junk to me & get their money back, I will contact eBay & PayPal where necessary. Please, let’s keep this honest!
If you haven’t already, add me to your favorite sellers list on eBay. Every time I list Capri parts, you will get an e-mail from eBay (not me) notifying you to check them out! You can do this from the auction page that you won.
Thank you very much for your purchase & I look forward to serving you in the future!
Below, is the last few moments of an "Dynamic" White '94 Capri. It had a bad motor, Salvage title & some extensive rust... time to send it pack'n! I took this video, because this is the first Capri that I took to a scrap yard. Normally I would just call the local salvage yard & give them the car once I feel I've parted it out as far as I could...but scrap prices were high so I took it in myself. That day I got $145.00 for it...plus, I got a show!! I had never experianced seeing a claw that big, slamming into a car and taking it off the trailer like that, I had to chuckle!
