My name is Don, and I've been a musician and audiophile for nearly 40 years, and currently work as a mastering engineer, and DVD author/NLE for a duplication firm here in So.Cal.
I've been an eBayer for more than nine years now, and thoroughly enjoy it. I'm not a pro seller, but, I do like to post things that I run across in my garage that I no longer want, but perhaps someone else will, or if there is a new piece of gear that I want , and I need to sell a few things to get it.
I have many interests, largely related to music and audio, as well as old radios and model trains. I have a particular affinity for old stereo gear from Allied Electronics from the late 60's. I've bought, (just for example) four Allied TD 1030 reel to reel tape decks, just to get one working example. I'm up to two functional ones, and I may sell off the 3rd if I can get it going. A lot of us started with this deck.
Most of my past auctions have been rare recordings and audio gear. I've sold about 10 stereo tape decks, at least 13 turntables, and about 70 reels of pre-recorded tape, lots of records, and 16" transcriptions. And occasionally I'll sell something for my wife, or some of the other odd bits of memoribelia that I have accumilated over the years.
I do go out of my way to make sure that if you buy from me, that it is a pleasurable experience. I try to treat everyone as I want to be treated. If you are bidding on one of my items, bid with confidence, So far, I've got a 100% positive feedback rating, and I work hard to maintain it.
In the last few years I've written 5 guides related to buying turntables, packing turntables, buying pre-recorded and NOS blank open reel tape, and basics on how to record on your computer. Lot's of very good feedback on these, which has led me to start a book on home audio, particularly vintage equipment. Now I am thinking of shelving that idea and make a DVD instead!
As long as eBay stays fun and occasionally profitable, I'll be around, Cheers!
