Hello and welcome to our "about me" page.

My name is Steve Porter. I have a BS in Industrial Technology from Purdue University. I spent the better part of 15 years climbing the corporate ladder in a precast concrete manufacturing plant. In January 2005 I created Porter's Trading Post, LLC primarily as a hobby for my buying/selling of stuff. Sidelined by a venture into the florist/gift shop business from Mar 2005 - Dec 2006, I took a break until Aug 2007. 

Aug 2007...I once again began on the initial Porter's Trading Post, LLC plan. After aquiring a couple retail stores to liquidate I hired my first employee, then the 2nd. In January of 2008, I quit my job and became a full time employee of Porter's Trading Post. We have had our ups and downs...sometimes wondering if we would make it. A year later here we are...working hard, trying always to be honest and fair, but certainly still wondering.

For all of those who have supported us in the past and continue to support us now...when the larger chain was perhaps better or cheaper we owe you a huge debt of gratitude. All we can offer is our sincere thanks.
