For now, meet Sugar.

Hi,
Thank you for stopping by. Got a cup of coffee? I do, well cappuccino since I LOVE that as well as many other things. Do you have any questions for me (keep it clean :-)?
For Rennies and Playtrons, I spent 10 years with Ye Silver Castle swords at the Medieval and Renaissance Festivals around the country. You may know me. I was the so-called business manager who handled the paperwork for most sword sales and handled ALL the money. In Georgia, we were by the Ded Bob show. In Michigan, we were up the hill from the joust. We were also in the Norman, OK faire as well as right up front at the Tennessee Renaissance Festival and the Great Lakes Medieval Faire. In our last 10 years, we also did the festival in Wichita, KS, the Ohio Renaisance Festival near Dayton, OH, a show in Tyler,TX, the Texas Renaissance Festival, and many others.
I'll bet you wonder about the name SugarAvenue. That began several years ago in Florida, when my bestest buddy, my faithful, loving and loyal Border Collie-mix friend, Avenue, and I met this sweet little golden brown kitten, Sugar, just minutes after she was born. She looked like light Golden Brown Sugar, and the name stuck. Avenue always loved kitties and missed her old buddy from Michigan. Within a few months, we took the shop kitty, Sugar, into our home and farther into our hearts. Somehow, the names got reversed and they sounded so perfect together, like they were meant to be.
Well I loved (and still do love and miss her every minute of every day - she died a couple years ago at 15 years old) Avenue. She was my navigator when we traveled from one Renaissance or Medieval Festival to the next. She was at every Faire site. She was never more than 20-25 feet away from me when we weren't in the fair villages where dogs were not allowed. This way, she is still here in everything I do. Her memory guides me in everything as well. She had a way of letting me know when I was wrong about something, so I try to do things as if she were here guiding me and protecting me: I TRY to do the RIGHT THING.
When I left the festival circuit and Ye Silver Castle Swords/Medieval Customs Accoutrement's and moved back to my beloved Michigan, I worked the corporate 9-5 for a few years. However, being differently abled and having had a bad fall, my employer and I developed other ideas about the working disabled, and I was let go. I had been dabbling on ebay for years. While my sister and I were both off work, my mother decided this was a good time to get the kids to go through the stuff in her basement. While doing this, my sister and I would pull out things the folks said to toss. Usually the first thing out of our mouths was, "Do you know what this might bring on eBay?"
The lights went on. Being an ex-graphic artist, laser artist and computer programmer as web-site developer as well as the ex-IT person for Ye Silver Castle and Paradise Found, my sister seemed to think it would be a natural for me, and I had no income at the time, so she pushed and we loaded up my car.
From there, the business has grown and grown THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!!! I am working everyday to continue this growth with good ethics.
It has also grown thanks to the support of my wonderful family! I couldn't single out one over the other though their type of support is different. They have even donated products to sell, when I am strapped and when I'm not. Most important, they offer their love and emotional support.
I am also available as an eBay Trading Assistant if you have things you want to sell but don't want the hassle. I will even come to you or we can arrange to meet someplace like a restaurant or a Starbucks or Caribou Coffee, since I do not have a storefront. I like the public places for your security and mine. Think about it. You can make a LOT OF EXTRA $$$ with a good clear out, and who can't use the extra cash these days?
Now you know more about me than I have told anyone in years.
Time for another cup of Joe and to get back to work. Thanks again for stopping in! HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY! HAVE A SUGARAVENUE TYPE DAY!!!
Carla
