Memphis Reunion at Peabody Hotel
I am a 'first batch' baby boomer--born in '46, and turned 60 in 2006. I have two adult sons, two daughters-in-law, 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and a sweet kitty named Lucy Goosy. I have been in the full-time caregiving role for my 90 year old mother for the past 2 1/2 years, in my home. Mother continues to enjoy good quality of life and she has become much healthier since coming into my home. Her morning routine includes newspaper reading (cutting out articles and pictures) and attacking the cross-word puzzle. She used to watch all of the action shows on TV that were increasingly more violent (and very loud), so we now watch the travel channel, PBS specials, and music and food channels. We still enjoy occasional local day trips, and reminiscing about family times, and of course, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy on TV, while we have dinner. My sister and I even flew her to Memphis, Tennessee in August '05 for a family reunion! The photo at top is us at the Peabody Hotel! Due to increasing demands on my time in caregiving responsibilities, I have had to temporarily close my ebay store, Suncoast Collectibles. However, I anticipate reopening by the end of October, 2007. In the meantime, I have started an ebay group "Boomers Providing Caregiving for their Parents" and would love to hear from anyone who has found themselves in this new role. Please stop in and visit anytime. I am looking forward to hearing your stories, and sharing our ideas.
Thank you for stopping by, and please come back again soon. I am always adding new memories for us to enjoy. Warmly in Florida, Sunnygal 46
