Hi there. I started selling "this and that" on Ebay in October of 2002 to appease my husband. I was spending every weekend at auctions with my Mom and our house was brimming with "extras" from the lots I bought. We live in an historic home so I was (and still am) collecting period pottery and glass (and every other THING) for accent pieces.
Ironically, it was at an auction that my husband took me to that I ran into my first "Fashion Doll" - a grocery store doll a little bigger than Miss Revlon and a little smaller than Cissy. She was not in pristine shape but my step daughter LOVED her, even named her Natalie. I worked really hard to clean her, re-paint her nails, set her hair... then I loved her too.
It was when I was searching on Ebay for a wardrobe for Natalie (so I could give her to my stepdaughter for Christmas) that I discovered Cissy. Ouch. There has been no turning back. Thanks to my super Mom I now have 3 Cissy's, my stepdaughter has one and we have Natalie too.
When auctions every weekend started to drive me a little bit nuts my super Mom (again!) started going for me during the week since she is retired. Mom concentrates on vintage and other dolls because she is an avid collector and so now am I although I promised I would never collect dolls!
All of the dolls and related items I put up on Ebay are "rescued". My Mom comes home with car loads of dolls that have been thrown in boxes and stored in garages for YEARS. Sometimes they require a minimal clean up, sometimes I have to throw them away. Sometimes there is a gem among them.
I try to represent everything as honestly as possible. If I miss a flaw I'll beat myself up for a long time! But I am extremely easy to deal with and welcome any and all questions. I love Ebay - buying and selling - and thank you everyone who has had faith in me - especially super Mom!!!!
