The handle Surpluswilly is not because I a surplus dealer it was given to me by my friends.

I was born Willem then at grade school in them days my teachers changed it to William, then sometime latter my friends started calling me Willy, in high school I became Bill to some people and Willy to others.

I am always the guy who has extra of everything. I then got the nick name surplus because if anyone needed anything it was, (check with surplus first). When I fishing I take a good supply of tying materials. If any of my buddies needed any tying materials or flies they would come and see me, thus the name surpluswilly came about.

I am a sixty years old grandfather and have been fly fishing and tying for over thirty years. I have read a lot on the subject of fly fishing and tying but I don know it all and I still learning, there is always something new and innovative to learn. That why it such an interesting sport.
